Letter: I'll tell you what's really insane

Your privacy is about to be slammed against the political wall one more time. It's just a little cut on your rights, no big deal. You can take it for the kid's sake, right?

"Doctor," I said, "Lately I have not been able to sleep."

"Oh, you don't say," said the doc as he entered my information in the new National Background Check site for mental health, and he asked if I had any thoughts on suicide or killing people.

"What an odd thing to ask," I said.

He said, "Excuse me, but I have to make an important phone call."

A few minutes went by and two men entered with the doctor and started to put a funny wrap-around jacket on me as my family doctor explained that with the new law, he was mandated to call these mental issues in, and the judge wants me placed on a 30-day evaluation.

Is this just delusional thinking on my part?

I can see how easy it would become for mental illnesses to be reported by unqualified health workers as we inch our way toward Citizen Kane becoming a reality for background checks and gun control.

Not long ago, people would have said you're nuts if you suggested that the Senate and Congress need to pass a bill into law so they would have time to read it. Hello, Obamacare! And we still do not know what the cost is to America.

Insanity is passing into law things that sound good but are not proven, kind of like Obamacare.

As a little diversion here, scientists have genetically modified sheep in Uruguay with a gene produced by jellyfish for illumination. These sheep glow brightly in the dark! They were born in October 2012 at that country's Institute of Animal Reproduction, the work being done in conjunction with France's Institute Pasteur. OK, this is all very interesting, but do you want to consume glowing sheep? ..... I can agree with AN about using correct terminology for the act which Obama signed. Having established that, let's all wake up to its implications.

“… regarding your objections to my use of the popular moniker ‘Monsanto Protection Act’ can be compared to your use of the term "Willard The Money Hider."

Actually – again – you are incorrect. There is no such thing as The Monsanto Protecton Act – no matter how “popular” you seem to think such an act. And your statement that President Obama “singed the Monstanto Protection Act” was just wrong – period.

“(why don't you explain that the Willard nomenclature came from a certain country's intelligence agency?).”

As to Willard the Money Hider, I have no idea what you are referring to about “a certain country’s intelligence agency.” I began calling Willard that when it was disclosed that he hides his money off-shore to avoid taxes.

“And you want to argue about the nomenclature under which this historic genocide is being effected. Like you always write here – ‘Pathetic!’.”

I am not arguing about anything. I agree with you on GMO’s, etc. However, I will not allow you or anyone else to post erroneous information in an attempt to mislead people. There was no “Monsanto Protection Act” and the president did not sign the “Monsanto Protection Act” and you know it.

And yes, I despise Romney and all that he stands for - 50% of the world's money is to be found in offshore accounts (the latest figure I came across was $36 trillion). At any rate, natural/healthy agriculture in America is being completely destroyed. And you want to argue about the nomenclature under which this historic genocide is being effected. Like you always write here - "Pathetic!".

“You don't present facts and you certainly Never have constructive solutions or ideas on how this nation can be better for all!”

Absolutely false. Why post such nonsense?

“Your answer constantly being for others to mind their own business-what makes you think it isn't my business when my tax dollars are used to help fund "PLANND PARENTHOOD?"”

Our tax dollars fund many things many of us disagree with – wars and corporate welfare to name just two. Planned Parenthood – as much as you detest them – offers accessible health care for millions of women around the nation – and in some cases the only low cost access to mammograms and other womens health issues. What I find surprising is that with less than 3% of their operation providing operatons you want your sisters to do without health care access. That is truly pathetic.

“How many abortions have you paid for to escape the trauma of being responsible for an innocent life created out of an act of lust as your rhetoric on the subject suggest maybe a guilty conscience.”

None because tax dollars cannot be used to fund abortions.

”And the idea that planned parenthood is mainly providing a woman female health care, breast examines, birth control etc. is an absolute lie!”

No it is not. Again why post things that are so easily disproved?

”These single women have mediaid(ACCHCS) for all theur medical needs as well as theur childrens..”

No they do not. Again false information. Where do you get this stuff?

Once again, don’t like abortion, don’t have one. In all other cases mind your own business.

Ms Smith,

“And who do you think will ultimately end up paying that 2.3 tax--You and everyone else who has need of medical devices.”

It is always interesting when a rightie is proven wrong they come back with more incorrect data.

“And NO you have not read the entire bill…”

And you know this because of the many times you have come to my office and we have talked about … oh wait! You have never been to my office, you do not know me nor have we ever met. So tell us again how you can make the ridiculous statement asserting that I have not read the bill? One thing we do know is that you have never read the bill as evidenced by the false information from Ms Athens you previously posted.

“.. and you probably aren't listening to the right news casts preferring mainstream media over the truth.”

Ahh, look, there we have the “mainstream media” meme again from a person who admitted to ONLY watching FAUX News. FAUX claims to be the most watched “news” source thereby making them part of “THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA!”

“No, I don't like OB, … he fits right in with the dastorly Holywood set.

I do not know exactly what the “dastorly Holywood set” might be – I suppose it has something to do with a creationist theme park. However, you have proven that you dislike our president – which is fine – BUT posting incorrect information about him or his polices is… well, just wrong.

No, I don't like OB, He should have sought out a late night program show and played out his comedy and dictatorial behavior on it as he fits right in with the dastorly Holywood set. Oh well, as stated "he won now we all have to live with it".

“Regarding Monsanto … was signed by Obama which allows Monsanto … to go forward with what can only be called a criminal agenda.”

I will try once again to point out that HR 933, the “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013” Title 1, section 735, aka The Farmer Assurance Program, was slipped into the bill by Republicans to protect Monsanto and other GMO producers – although the act does not specify Monsanto or any other manufacturer. As part of the huge bill the president was faced with having to sign the entire bill, because (as I have told you before) he does not have line item veto power – again, thanks to the Republicans.

“(‘Monsanto Protection Act’ was the moniker assigned by many websites, to highlight its essence - destroying all oppositiopn to its criminal products without judicial oversight) “

Despite what “many websites” posted there was no such thing as the Monsanto Protection Act as you stated the president had signed, thereby making your post untrue. Your inference was that this non-existent act was a stand alone piece of legislation approved by the president, which it was not.

Good grief, AN, I don't harbor any more animosity towards Obama than toward Bush. In fact, because of what I understand has been taking place behind the scenes, I would prefer NOT to dwell more than necessary upon those two personalities. Regarding Monsanto, however this dispute is resolved about the nomenclature of their legislation, an absolutely horrific act was signed by Obama which allows Monsanto - which developed Agent Orange for use in Vietnam, and whose products have been banned by the entire world except for 15 nations bullied into acquiesence by America (no wonder Iran calls the USA a 'bully') - to go forward with what can only be called a criminal agenda. I'm really going to hold you responsible here for abject avoidance of the main issue. Why is it that you do not care about the health, and even the survival, of the American people? Oh, it was more important to absolve your pal Obama on the criteria that the Monsanto death pill was buried in a bowl of appropriations legislation. Tell that to the 3rd generation in future, which - according to widely-published research - may be sterile from having consumed Monsanto products. ("Monsanto Protection Act" was the moniker assigned by many websites, to highlight its essence - destroying all oppositiopn to its criminal products without judicial oversight)

“You stated the issue concerning medical equipment posted by Linda Athens is false.NO it is not false--a tax on ALL medical equipment was written into OB care!”

This is what happens when someone accepts the incorrect data of a person who is known for not being truthful and then repeats that same incorrect information.

Let’s look at the facts (which I have covered before) as outlined in the ACA – The 2.3% federal excise tax applies to certain durable medical equipment and will be applied to the manufacturer, producer, or importer of the device or equipment used by humans as listed by the FDA in section 201(h) of the Drug and Cosmetic Act. This does not include eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids or any other device sold at retail for use by an individual.

“That tax will be paid by you and everyone else. It also will not only affect the human medical realm, it will apply to veternarians, all dental equipment used for your care and treatment in the dental chair.”

Wrong on all counts.

“There no exemption added in the case of veternarians so you will pay more in taxes for the care of dog, cat, bird, horse, cattle ect.ect..”

Wrong, the act specifically states items used by humans.

“So Mr. Moore, you continue to be blinded by you unrelenting love of OB …”

No Ms Smith, YOU continue to be blinded by your hatred of President Obama and are mislead by others with a similar agenda.

A man who will remain unmentioned recently bought a large caliber handgun. He never had a gun before. His paranoia was that criminals would consider his mental illness PROOF that he was unarmed and an easy mark. Now the law has been stopped, & he is stuck with a handgun that he doesn't really want. Blast it all, how many times has this event been repeated nationwide. Shame on Republicans & Democrats.

@Bob Moore.....You did, indeed, criticize the Monsanto provision. But considering the devastating truths of Monsanto's products and how they're being proferred (Monsanto executives moving back and forth between the company and top Government positions in Washington D.C.), I still say that you would do better to focus more on the meat, and less on the trimmings, of these postings. I have been factual in my postings, although frequently pointing out the Miner's 300-word limitation here as making it difficult to tell the whole story about anything.

Karen Wright, a counselor at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Grand Prairie, TX had a bio that tells of a loving teacher who wants to help students in every way.

Her Facebook however told another story. Apparently referring to the multiple tragedies this week, she posted the following:

"It's amazing how the "whites" get angry when Obama speaks. Oh well....it's most whites who is getting blown away - so they will soon be wiped from the earth. LOL"

First, I would call her down on her terrible English.

Second, since she speaks of whites being blown away, I will point out that she is very black with dark brown eyes.

And she is jobless because she was immediately suspended from all further duties.

Thank you Texas!!! Her words were stricken and she is immediately gone. . Lefties, as you continue to spew your accusations of racism, please remember this woman teaching our children.

“Bob Moore lost my regards when responding to my posting last week about the Monsanto rider …. he focused on the term which I used for the rider…”

“Yes, complete insanity to pass bills noone has read.”

Who is this “noone” person you keep referring to?

“Dr. Betsy McCaughey knows.”

McCaughey is a shill of the insurance industry and has been proven incorrect so many times she’s approaching Barton as being a world class liar.

“The only person I know who actually read it,”

I’ve read it and I know you haven’t because when pressured you can never support the ridiculous assertions you make about the bill.

“The insanity of the coverage on medical equipment alone is enough to make you start drinking as you realize, the people writing that part had no clue about walkers and wheel chairs, etc. And people needing them will be hurt, ie the elderly again.”

And that is wrong as been pointed out here unmoors times and yet here you are again posting false information. Why do you do that?

“A trainwreck waiting to happen was his description. Right on Max.”

Now all of a sudden you are quoting a Democrat – sad.

“And thanks for being one of four Dems that voted against the gun bill yesterday which undoubtedly sent obama to the prozac cupboard.”

What makes you think the President takes Prozac? Where did you get that misinformation? And it is interesting how the Republicans and a few misled Dems vote against something 90% of the American people support, you consider it to a good thing. Sad, as well.

“Obamacare and Common Core together will ensure if you blink wrong, the men in white coats will be knocking at your door.”

I will now – pointlessly ask – that you provide some empirical proof of that ridiculous assertion.

Remember, your simply saying something will never make it true.
