Letter: Choices being taken away

Have you ever heard of "government for the people and government by the people"? Then why is it now government for the government and government for the government? Think about those statements while observing the following developments:

First, saving the smelt fish, 50,000 farmers have lost their way of life and the area is now a desert. This is compliments of government and the EPA bureau.

Second, the Bundy family in Nevada have been ranching the area for nearly 100 years. Before the EPA or BLM ever existed, it was called open range and now the government has confiscated 400 of their cattle, payment for grazing rights, and claims they are protecting the desert tortoise. In reality it's known that the government has relocated the tortoise to other locations when making room for government projects.

Third, choice of health care is a joke. The government claims they want to help millions to acquire health care. In the real world, millions of people had their health care canceled to force them to purchase government health care so they can control the health care system and become government social health care.

Fourth, they are now telling the American people how to raise their children, what to eat, what to drink, and in many cases, what we say. They call it political correctness.

The list goes on and on. When are Americans going to wake up? If they don't, then it might be too late. Whether you are a Democrat, liberal, independent or Republican, the people of the United States control the government, not the other way around.

Keep our great nation a democracy. Don't allow whoever is in the White House to make a statement like, "If they don't like it, I will just take my pen and make it an executive order!" Don't let this country turn into a socialistic, government-controlled state. If so, we will become the new U.S.S.R. (United States of Socialist Republics). Think about it!

@LOL

“Obama: ‘Actually, Mitt is his middle name. I wish i could use my middle name.’”

As one who believes he uses sarcasm (failing every time) you obviously understand that the president’s comment was sardonic. Oh, wait, no you don’t – sorry expected more than that from you (well not really).

Sure

67th annual Alfred E. Smith Foundation Dinner

Obama: "Actually, Mitt is his middle name. I wish i could use my middle name."

Source? Someone who uses sources like Mother Jones and Media Maaters really should not dictate to others what sources are legitimate. But......just for you, go to youtube and type in "2012 al smith dinner, obama" and you can watch it all, unedited.

"I am curious why the editor allows you to say "Pres. Hussein" "

Because it is their website and leftists do not get to dictate what the rules and guidelines are. But i am sure if your president could have his way we would have hate speech laws to control what can be said. Also, because it is actually his middle name. But i suppose you don't like people being reminded of his muslim name. I love how leftists think that if you use his actual middle name you are either being disrespectful or a racist.

LOL

“People in America have had it.”

Yes, we have, we are fed up.

”Unemployment actually 13%.”

Nope, 6.3%. Try to keep up.

“Obamacare the biggest disaster in our history.”

Nope, people signing up and liking it. Why are you – a person who thrives on government health care – against every American having access to health care?

“EPA and other regs destroying jobs and businesses”

Nope, still wrong and always will be.

“He tramples Christianity.”

Yes, we know, “poor little Christians.” What a load of pure hogwash.

“His past is still unknown.”

Remember you can find the facts about that jihad of yours at my blog about Birtherville.

Take heart Mr. Palmer:

Tonight the Republican the Democrat, Kay Hagan feared, won handily in NC.

They will face off. There is no doubt but that he will win.

This will be the face of the Fall mid-terms. Liberals are simply blinded to the fact, every single inch of this administration is corrupt, pulling us down, destroying our country, trampling our Constitution. While not everyone speaks up, I predict an unbelievable victory for the right in November.

People in America have had it.

Consider five years into his presidency.

Unemployment actually 13%.

More NOT in the work force - highest in 35 years

Obamacare the biggest disaster in our history.

EPA and other regs destroying jobs and businesses

Our friend Israel treated worse by obama than any POTUS in our history. (I will bless those that bless them...)

He tramples Christianity.

His past is still unknown.

Highest debt in American history, middle class annihilated.

"When they have no relevance to the discussions they are boring and uninformative"

Perfect wording, thank you. I would only add that the world has changed drastically, so it should be something to take into consideration when you're wanting to share life experience. What happened to someone 50-60 years ago is unlikely going to pair up with any of today's present issues. When my kids were growing up, I never compared my childhood to theirs as they were completely different. There are these things called Blogs that you can use to share life experience with those who are willing to listen.

“Mr. Moore, Maybe because that is his name and he stated at the time of his re-election he wished he could use that name…”

I will now ask that you provide some proof that the President said “he wished could use that name” thank you. Any verifiable news source (except FAUX News, WND or CNS) will do.“Ref. to grandfather…”

So let’s get this straight. He OWNED his ranch, unlike the crook Bundy who used our land to fatten his cattle? Is that correct? And if that is the case it has to do with the crook Bundy stealing from the taxpayers…how?

“I don't think it is a bad thing for people on here to share life experience in discussing issues.”

When they have no relevance to the discussions they are boring and uninformative.

Mr. Moore,
Maybe because that is his name and he stated at the time of his re-election he wished he could use that name, So I'm patronizing him fulfilling that wish.

Ref. to grandfather was about the remarks made person expounding on all negative she believes animals to be. He brought that ranch during depression Till his death never had to battle BLM or EPA!! My mom, siblings and grandmother never did either, and it wasn't sold until 1965.

This government is so out of control right now and another 2yrs' with current admin. by 2016 we it will be too late to turn back, if not before!

I don't think it is a bad thing for people on here to share life experience in discussing issues.
Life experiences are the greatest learning tool around, also gives one another different perceptions on varying issues that one may not have considered prior.

If anybody will just take the time to research facts instead of responding here viscerally, we would all have a more helpful conversation - to wit, by one definition, Bundy's family HAS been working the land near Bunkerville since the 1800's, through his wife's maternal antecedents. This assertion may be a tad airy for some, but it nonetheless falls short of an outright lie.

You can't say that unless you can dispel my words. If "YOU" choose to be led around on a leash, believe everything you're told, and let the morons dictate your life, then that is a personal choice. Now is it your church doing this to you or your Representative? Either way, quit being a puppet!

Yeah, the Bundy thing got blown way out of proportion and I suppose 'debunked' is an accurate word used in that context. However. While Bundy doesn't have some "side kick political", he does have a very powerful entity behind him in the Church of the LDS. And you can bet he's getting some coaching from them.
Anybody recall that it is now a felony to protest a Government official in any way, at any time, anywhere? That's but one example of many 'changes' brought to us in the last five years.
I'm glad more and more people are realizing our problems aren't rooted in one Political Party vs. another. That's a start.

“No one is screaming about the WELFARE FARMERS…”

Many of us have complained for years about the corporate welfare farmers who suck taxpayer dollars. Try to keep up.

”Why is it…no one calls him unpatriotic, a racist or bigot.”

O’Reilly has been called out literally hundreds of times for his racist, bigoted comments. Try to keep up.

”SO, Mr. Bundy is not as versed and eloquent in what he intends to convey!!”

So what you are saying is that the old thief speaks from his heart and truly believes the racist garbage he spews. Thanks for that clarification.

”We are in deep doo in this nation and Pres. Hussein has contributed to it Intentionally…”

Funny stuff. Sometimes your hatred for this president is beyond ridiculous. And I am curious why the editor allows you to say “Pres. Hussein”?

“…my grandfather owned ranch in N.M.”

So what? Did he cheat the taxpayers out of grazing fees as well?’’

”Why hasn't the supposed 1st lady gone into any inner city schools and projects to portray to those young black people positive mentoring??”

Actually she does that on a regular basis. Try to keep up.

"Why is it that Bill O'Reilly can go on his Fox program and point out all negatives concerning the Black community and no one calls him unpatriotic, a racist or bigot."

First off they will not allow guest onto the program if they are going to degrade him. If someone does slip by, then he either talks over them or shuts off their mic. I have watched him evolve over the last 15 years to the point that I'm waiting for them to change the name to the "800 Club", Democratic Rag Show, or the Right Wing Ledger. With that said, his show is controlled just like the KDMiner, if it doesn't fit the right wing agenda then you be lucky to get something printed.

Bob Moore:

The Bunkerville area was inhabited by Mormons, many of which were Bundy's grandparents in the 1800's. His grandfather got allotment in 1887, it then went to Clivens Father and then Cliven in 1972.

You never admit the BLM is hostile to logging, mining, ranching - taken over by those w/their enviro-wilderness grandiose plan to develop VAST solar energy installations on federal land all across the SW.

Their mitigation strategy was to MOVE the tortoise to a new location because it was not compatible with solar power plants but not before using it as an excuse to get ALL ranchers off land they want for solar/wind/geothermal.

So crazed are the enviros, if you have a puddle in your yard, they'll get the EPA to regulate it as a navigable waterway and throw you off your land.

To prove it, the Center for Biological Diversity (and other enviro-nuts) is suing the BLM for backing down.

WHY would that be Bob, since there is NO indication in 15 yrs of a turtle enslaught by being trampled by cattle. In fact, there was NEVER that indication.

It must be an entirely Democrat and Republican problem as nobody tells me how to raise, feed, or anything else. Just don't allow those politicians into your home and that should fix the problem. Oh Ya, don't forget to remove the battery from you cell, laptop and unplug your desktop computer, wouldn't want them NSA folks spying on you.

No one is screaming about the WELFARE FARMERS, who produce absolutely and receive subsidies from Every Tax payer!

I think was making his case reference welfare for the Black community, whose unemploy-
ment rate is the highest among all in the entire country!

Why is it that Bill O'Reilly can go on his Fox program and point out all negatives concerning the Black community and no one calls him unpatriotic, a racist or bigot.

Mr. Bundy doesn't have some side kick political to write his speeches and advise him as Old Harry Reid does! SO, Mr. Bundy is not as versed and eloquent in what he intends to convey!!

We are in deep doo in this nation and Pres. Hussein has contributed to it Intentionally and people better Wake up and take the blinders off!
Our Congress and this Current Admin. Is out of control!!
There was ONE ignorant person who made the remark ref. women and children and Harry took that and ran on son's TV.
I know ranchers and my grandfather owned ranch in N.M.
NOT ONE rancher I have ever known would EVER put women and children up as "human Shields" as OLD Harry stated it!!!!

Ask yourself Why hasn't the supposed 1st lady gone into any inner city schools and projects to portray to those young black people
positive mentoring?? She's too busy about your personal diet!

First. Agreed. All this bs about smelt fish, snail darters, tortoises, etc etc etc. has gotten to the point of being ridiculous. The ecofreaks have taken over that part of the government.

Second. Can't agree. Law is law. Obey it or suffer consequences. While I may not agree with the law, you can't just ignore it and not expect repercussions. Why those repercussions are so important now after 20 years is the question.

Third. Agreed. Obama has taken the greatest health care system in the world, though not perfect by a long shot, and reduced it to what will eventually look like a third world country. Some well written laws to correct the imperfections would have been a much better solution.

Fourth. Agreed! This is partly due to the people themselves. Since the 30's/40's we have let government take over and tell us what to do and when to do it in our daily lives. It has gotten to the point we look to the government for solutions to all our problems. Of course, they tell us one thing today and 5 or 10 years later, they change their minds and tell us the opposite. It's time we start to think more for ourselves.

You are right, it has become a government for the government, but it is because we have let it happen by becoming lazy and wanting everything done for us.

Our great nation is not, and never was, a democracy. The US is a representative republic.

Democracies lead to anarchy, where the "leaders" in Washington could use rhetoric to incite the population into thoughtless action.

Representative republics allow for the people to elect representatives from their individual regions to represent their interests in Congress.

Lobbyists and monetary influences have caused these elected representatives to represent themselves rather than their constituents. Coupled with that, the populace has either not bothered to be aware of what their representative is doing, or has been getting their news from HBO and late night "news shows".

Know who you are voting for.

"...a 2009 United States Department of Agriculture study estimated that job losses due to smelt protection were closer to 5,000. An additional 16,000 job losses in the Central Valley were attributed to the drought California had been experiencing in recent years."

Blowing the number all out of proportion because of a chain e-mail or something a right wing said, doesn't change facts.

“Second, the Bundy family in Nevada have been ranching the area for nearly 100 years.”

Incorrect, fully debunked. Clark County property records show Cliven Bundy's parents moved from Arizona and bought the 160 acre ranch in 1948. Cliven was born in 1946. Court records show Bundy cattle didn't begin grazing on that land until 1954, making the remainder of your comments highly suspect as well.
