Reader Letter: Angius right person for the job

Barbara Pape was firmly behind Hildy Angius' successful campaign against Tom Sockwell and supported her, saying Hildy is the best choice for supervisor.

Now Pape has flip-flopped on her thoughts of Angius because, in my opinion, she didn't get reappointed to BATS, needed another endeavor to pursue to feel good about herself and has decided to toss her bonnet into the ring as a write-in candidate for supervisor.

Tom Sockwell, who appears to continue to suffer from sour grapes about losing the election, is now saying he is backing Pape because in his words, "... Angius didn't run a good campaign." Sockwell has his facts all wrong; Angius ran a good and clean campaign. She presented what she would do if elected as District 2 supervisor and the citizens of Bullhead City spoke out loudly by choosing her over Sockwell in the primary election.

It was Sockwell who pulled the proverbial dirty tricks out of his campaign bag by attempting to smear Angius' campaign bid by passing out confidential information about someone who completed some campaign work for her.

Then isn't it ironic that Mohave County Manger Ron Walker finally admitted he had a copy of the confidential report and county PIO Darryle Purcell attempted, in my opinion, to influence an election by passing out the same report to a reporter and also called the chamber of commerce on behalf of Sockwell's campaign.

All three denied about their knowledge of the file until they were again confronted by the media. This just proves there is coercion and unneeded tyranny currently in the county administration.

All I am going to say is I honestly believe Hildy Angius is the best choice for District 2 Supervisor and from what I've seen and heard about her, she is the right person for the right job!

Barbara, the direction Hildy stands for is honesty and accountability, and she made it clear that getting the county off the backs of property owners as even Buster Johnson talked about prop 13 in the havasu paper, this is so PRECIOUS ! If you are going in a different direction or proud to have the backing of sockwell, your knowledge of his work in golden valley or lack of it just said it all,but have a nice day .

Mr. Meriwether, Please get your facts right. "After Hildy announced her candidancy and I found out her direction. I was never was a supporter of Hildy Angius as a candidate. At the same time, this was the end of CRRW for me and Hildy knows "why" we are not working together! I totally disagree with her direction for Mohave County, and this is the answer! Also, anyone, who knows me knows me, knows that I don't go for the pursue to feel good. I am a giver and I am directed to go for the solution! I am a supporter of the Republican Women's Party but, not Hildy!"
