Kingman Letter: Thanks from Chris Marie and Butch Meriwether

We would like to say thank you to all of the loving and caring people who made generous donations of cash and food items to the no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary For The Luv Of Paws and also toys to Toys For Tots.

We have turned over more than 130 toys and stuffed animals, and $330 that were utilized by the Marine Corps League Detachment #887 members, who worked as Santa's helpers to provide toys for local needy children this Christmas.

At last count, we have turned over more than 1,235 pounds of dog and cat food and/or treats, and $710 to Cherie Dalynn, who heads up the For The Luv Of Paws facility located on Oatman Highway in Golden Valley. And the number of pounds seems to grow with each day when we walk out to pick up our newspaper and find another bag of dog or cat food that was left by caring anonymous donors during the night.

Our hearts swell with pride knowing there are so many loving people in Mohave County who have taken that extra step to provide assistance such as food for the animals and toys for the needy children.

A big thank you to Butch and Chris for their ongoing commitment to our Community! If you didn't get a chance to drive by their home to see the "Christmas Winder Wonderland," you really missed a spectacular show. Make sure you make it out there next year. 1,235 pounds of dog and cat food is INCREDIBLE. I think of all the children who truly got to enjoy Christmas because of what you did. I am proud to be your friend.

This speaks well and volumes about Kingman, Mohave County and it's residents.
As I have said before, there is a lot of good things that happen here, and a lot of good people make it a great place to live.
