My husband had asked me to get new tires while he was working. I made a mistake when I went chose the tire shop.
A few months later my husband and I went to have new tires put on our 5th wheel at AAAA Tires. They noticed we needed air in our truck tires. Well, they didn't need air - they were car tires.
I called the manager of the other tire store and he told us to bring it in. I told him it would have to be tomorrow. We were advised to drive straight home with the 5th wheel until we got the correct tires on.
No apology - the salesman was too busy spending over 15 minutes telling us how we were not in any danger with the car tires on our F-250. Talk about insulting a person. We had to pay for them to correct their mistake. And as if our time is not valuable, it took them 100 minutes to put the tires on. So after two hours (not counting the time already spent few months prior) this mess is over.
There is a big difference with car- and truck-rated tires. The main thing is the stiffness. Even without the 5th wheel, there was a huge difference in the handling of the truck.
Thank goodness for the guys at AAAA Tires. With their keen eye they saved us from what could have been a serious accident. Hate to even think of if we were towing with the 5th wheel loaded.
