Letter: Careless kills

Another motorcyclist in Kingman is killed by a careless driver. The driver was cited for failure to yield, but not charged for causing the death of the motorcyclist.

Is that justice?

“Actually Asnon, when you kill someone with a vehicle you can be charged with Vehicular Manslaughter. Moreso if the accident is your fault.”

Actually Rootie the operator of the vehicle pulling the horse trailer did not kill the motorcycle rider. As ugly as it is to say it, the rider was responsible for his own death by crashing into the trailer.

“Is that justice?”

Well, as much as we all hate it – yes it is. Whenever a vehicle crashes into a vehicle in front of it the fault lies with the driver of the following vehicle. Just like a rear-end collision when someone stops in the middle of the block. You are responsible to control your vehicle so that you do not crash into other vehicles.

And of course no matter what kind of citation was issued to the driver with the horse trailer it will not bring back the man who was killed.
