It sure is nice to turn on the TV and not hear about the Jodi Arias trial. That trial ended up being a media circus. I think when a case is going to be a media circus, the judge needs to keep the media out of the courtroom. It was every day that people and the media were in the courtroom, giving their opinions. When the case went to the jury there were a few times that some jury members need to ask the judge a question. The media was outside asking people all kinds of questions.
When the jury was deadlocked on a decision of life or death, people just went nuts. One family drove from New Jersey and had the gall to criticize the jury for not coming to a decision to sentence her to death. That guy even said that the jury let the state of Arizona down. What an idiot. It is easy to criticize when you don't know what all was being said in the jury room. After it was all over, one of the four jurors said that she had to go with her conscience. That is exactly what you have to do. My hat goes off to all of those jury members.
They gave five months of their time. They got paid, but that isn't the point. I have served on juries. It is not easy. I was never on a murder trial. I don't think that I could vote to sentence someone to death. It says in the Bible: An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. Jesus once said that "vengeance is Mine."
