Letter: Stray butt started a fire

This is to the inconsiderate smoker who threw their lit cigarette out their window on Castle Rock and set my fence on fire. Even when I smoked, I had enough class not to throw a butt out a window. You, on the other hand, have no class at all or consideration for others.

Praise God that I have insurance. I do forgive you, but also plead with you to not do this again. How would you feel if it was your property?

If a fire investigator told me how a fire was started I might believe them.....but anyone else is guessing.
Like the guy said, at least you got your weeds burnt.

No offense, but did you ever think about clearing the weeds along your fence? You must have had a lot of dry weeds to burn your fence down.

On the plus side, now you don't have to clear the weeds.

Both the fire department and the sheriff's departments said that it was from a cigarette. I have to take their word for it.

I'm not supporting people who throw lit cigarettes out car windows, but are you sure that is what caused the fire?
There was a study I read years ago on how hard it is to start a fire with a lit cigarette. I even tried it myself and the conditions have to be perfect.
We have had lightning strikes around our house about every evening and I just hold my breath...maybe that is what got your fence.
