Letter: CNN: fair and balanced

The scandal surrounding the IRS scrutiny of tea party tax-exempt status continues to plague Obama and his administration, particularly Lois Lerner, administrative officer in charge of reviewing tax-exempt status requests. Obama has simply ignored the scandal, hoping it will disappear. Lerner continues to invoke Fifth Amendment privilege and refuses to answer any of Congress' questions.

CNN actually provided a fair and balanced accounting of what occurred and where the responsibility rests. On the Erin Burnett show, on CNN, 4 p.m. Sept. 4, it was accurately reported where the scandal originated and where the blame belongs.

The report confirmed the IRS claim that a couple of agents in Cincinnati were to blame was blatantly false. The report laid full responsibility on Lois Lerner.

In the news report, Erin Burnett questioned whether Lerner's excess scrutiny was politically motivated or merely the actions of an over-zealous appointee. Meanwhile, Lois Lerner is on paid administrative leave and has been since the beginning of this scandal, and continues to collect her annual salary of $180,000, at taxpayer expense.

“A.N. - Even CNN (clinton national network)…”

Not familiar with that network. My cable company does not carry it, can I find it on-line?

“…as I watch them all and would suggest you take your blinders off and do the same.....”

No blinders here – why do you righties always make such stupid statements about other people? And you may rest assured that as part of my job I watch and read more news programming in a day then I suspect you do in a year.

“You will find that Fox does the best job and has the highest ratings by far...”

Why anyone would actually pay any attention to a “news” network that went to court and demanded the right to lie about, distort and make up news stories is beyond me. They have high ratings because they are dumped as a freebie on hundreds of cable companies throughout the nation.

“.. and I don't need to PROVE it.”

So in other words you CANNOT prove it. Got it.

“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”

And yet you still vote Republiscum. Amazing.

If I thought CNN was fair & balanced, I'd watch it. But since I've never seen it report that way, I don't watch it and will not be giving them a 2nd chance. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

@OKR

"There is a trend of people who have begun to get their news from the internet rather than the network news and cable news channels because of the bias in reporting."

Agreed. One reason I refuse to watch MSNBC or Fox either one.

Even CNN (clinton national network) gets it right once in awhile, as I watch them all and would suggest you take your blinders off and do the same.....might make you a little better informed!
You will find that Fox does the best job and has the highest ratings by far...must be a reason for that and I don't need to PROVE it.

I have noticed that CNN has been doing a better job of reporting the news, not just the liberal party line, lately.

Some of the glaring lapses in the reporting of the MSM has been noted by a growing number of Americans in the past year or so. There is a trend of people who have begun to get their news from the internet rather than the network news and cable news channels because of the bias in reporting. CNN has taken note.

Well yeah, a blind squirrel finds a acorn every now and then.

And yet we are told - regularly - by the usual suspects here that CNN is a bunch of lying liberals and should never be trusted to tell the truth.

So, who's right?

If you watched Fox you would already know that, as they reported that some time ago....
oh well better late than never as they say!
