Long, long ago back in the 1800s, we experienced the Indian Wars and the Range Wars between cattle barons. Then came Jesse James and Billy the Kid shooting and killing lawmen. Then there was the Civil War that almost destroyed this country.
The European War came along. Then came World War II, which was fought with not just Hitler but the Japanese. Then came the Korean War, followed by the Vietnam War.
I remember Bobby Kennedy being shot in California and Martin Luther King being shot in Memphis, Tenn. What a year that was! Then came the Civil Rights Movement and the Klan burning and killing out of hate. I remember, back when I was four years old, the Elvis comeback special.
