Letter: Walk a mile in their shoes

On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, Kingman's first WALK MS will be held at the Mohave Community College's Neal Campus. Walk MS is held throughout the country to build awareness about multiple sclerosis and to raise money for a cure.

MS is an unpredictable and devastating disease that can attack any of us in the prime of life. There are more than 8,000 Arizonans with MS. If you'd like to volunteer to help out, join or form a walk team, please register online www.walkaza.nationalmssociety.org.

The name of our Kingman MS Support Group team is the 'WWF-Weeblers, Wobblers, and Fallers.' Whether or not you walk or donate, by registering for our team you are showing your support of our cause.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the National MS Society at (800) FIGHT-MS; Lynette Baker (community development manager, Northern Arizona) at (480) 455-3962; or me, Patricia Green, at (928) 530-7982.

MS stops people from moving. The National MS Society exists to make sure it doesn't.

"I thought Walk a Mile in Their Shoes was the Cancer Care Unit walk that was at the begining of this month???"

Walk a mile in their shoes is just a common phrase chosen by the paper for the letter title. The letter writer calls it "Kingman's first WALK MS".
