Letter of thanks: Brenda Prudham

The 1st Annual Therese's Mulligan Golf Tournament held Oct. 27 at Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course and benefitting Kingman resident Gail Dike was a huge success. Thank you for your participation. Without all of you, this event wouldn't be possible. Proceeds from this event, over $6,700, were presented to Gail, a fixture in the Kingman community battling lung cancer.

This year's champions, Fred Lingenfelter, Pat Moore, Stephen Shuffler, and Kelly Pickering each received a beautiful trophy, a Callaway fairway wood and the coveted Therese's Mulligan Perpetual Trophy which the foursome will display until Oct. 25, when they either retain the trophy by winning again or pass it over to the 2014 champions.

PLEASED Golf, Inc. has begun planning the Second Annual Therese's Mulligan, which will be held Oct. 24 and 25. A dinner and silent auction will take place Oct. 24 and the shotgun start is at 9 a.m. Oct. 25. Dinner and tournament information will be available after Jan. 1. Keep an eye on our website, pleasedgolf.com for further event details.

PLEASED Golf, Inc. is asking for the community to help in choosing the beneficiary of the Second Annual Therese's Mulligan by submitting a letter of who and why you are nominating the person afflicted by cancer and needing our help. Please email your letter to bprudham@pleasedgolf.com or fax it to (858) 952-0501 by March 1. PLEASED Golf and the committee will then choose the top 10 letters and publish them on our website at pleasedgolf.com. It will then be up to the community to read the letters and vote for the individual they feel needs our help. Only one vote per IP address will be accepted. The deadline for the final vote will be midnight April 30. The recipient will be announced May 1.

It is my desire to help two people in our community each year starting 2015, including the addition of a children's program.

The PLEASED Golf Committee and I look forward to the 2014 event and helping a member of our community. Happy Holidays!

Brenda Prudham
