Letter: MLK, homosexuals a poor mix

Martin Luther King was for racial civil rights. I don't feel that the walk for homosexuals is what Martin Luther King was for, and to use Martin Luther King's name for a homosexual walk is wrong.

If you want to have a homosexual walk, then don't be using Martin Luther King as your advocate. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned discrimination based on race, color, discrimination, religion or national origin.

"Author Jeffrey M Smith, author of Seeds of Destruction....."

Smith has a degree in education from a phony college that is part of a cult and little more than a diploma mill.

His book was so bad it was "self-published" by Smith.

His credentials for being an expert are no better than yours on it, or any of the other loony conspiracies you embarrass yourself promoting here endlessly.

As always, thanks for the laughs you provided.

LOL

"As one of the organizers of the MLK walk"

For some reason, every time I submit a comment asking about the turnout for the MLK Walk, they are not posted. Funny, the KDM happily allowed it to be promoted. And yet no follow up story, complete with photos of the crowd, causing traffic problems with its size.

Out of curiosity, just how much "organizing" does it take to get a handful of people from Point A to Point B?

"Stepped in it again....."

Because Jeffery Smith from the leftist agenda and not science driven outfit, "institute for responsible technology" would never make something up to further his phony one man institute's agenda, right Bobby?

Smith is a "self published author". Which means whatever book he wrote sucked so much no publisher would touch it.

A graduate of the "Maharishi university of management", a cult run university. Located in Fairfield Iowa, it offers a "consciousness based education" and growth through "meditation and an organic, vegetarian food program" (no meat eaters need apply I guess). Understandable, his being self employed. Having a degree from that "university" on a job application would carry all the weight of having a degree from a clown college.

He belongs to something called the Natural Law Party, which is part of the Maharishi cult. He ran for congress under that party banner.....failed miserably, of course.

The "institute" he is associated with has himself as the director of it, of course. Makes you wonder how many members it has.

If this loon is your source for anything, you really
"stepped in it". I can't wait for you to defend this phony's credentials. I give it a 50/50 chance you will just run and hide rather than respond.

LOL

"animals eating GMO foods turned up the following...."

Yes....extremely scientific. Was the supposed GMO corn inspected and tested? Or was it just soaked in kerosene? Or did it even happen?

And of course the owner and Executive Director of the listed reference site and "Institute" is a certifiable whack job with absolutely no credentials.

And you criticize LA for using WND?

Prove it then bobber, quote me where i have judged gays...evidence anny boy, as you always require! No? Didnt think so

"Who is “forcing” any Church to perform gay marriage?""

Barrie Drewitt and Tony Barlow have announced that they are taking legal action against the Churches to force them to conduct same-sex marriages.

Help ya out bud??

Also, im not sure when you studied biology, but for something to be a genetic evolution, it occurs in the entire species over time. you are likening homosexuality to genetic malfunctions...lol again...seems worse than what i said!!

“But you believe they can somehow detect GM foods?”

Always fun to watch you “step in it.” A five minute search on animals eating GMO foods turned up the following.

“Jeffrey Smith of the Institute for Responsible Technology reports how farmers test whether their farm animals will eat GMOs. Animals, when given the choice, often choose non-genetically modified foods.”

“The farmer grinned as he told the visitor, ‘Watch this!’ He called his pigs, which ran frantically towards him to be fed. But when he scooped out corn and threw it on the ground, the pigs sniffed it and refused to eat it. The farmer then scooped corn from another bin and flung it near the pigs, which ran over and quickly devoured it. The farmer said, ‘The first corn is genetically engineered. They won’t touch it.’”

“Different species of wildlife and farm animals are trying to tell us something by clearly preferring not to eat Genetically Engineered foods when they have a choice of naturally grown corn, soybeans and other crops.”

As always, you’re welcome.

Who is “forcing” any Church to perform gay marriage?

“I cant believe that in evolution (based on the "its a genetic trait" nonsense) would allow a genetic trait, that hinders the procreation and perfection of a species.”

You mean a genetic, inherited trait that renders some animals and humans sterile?

The Washington Post has articles discussing animals' aversion to GM foods, author Jeffrey M. Smith in "Seeds Of Destruction" lists animals so inclined (some results are from laboratory tests - YouTube "Äuthor Jeffrey Smith About GMOs"), and eyewitness reports are chronicled at links I have but which the Miner's policy prevents from sharing. Geeeezz, you people could have found most of this without my help, but criticising is always easier, isn't it?

Article comment by: Yes, Remove Marriage from State and Federal Laws

Nikki, I agree. I'd like to see government completely removed from marriage when children are not involved. And when children are involved, only there to protect the health, safety and financial well-being of all participants.

Let's watch Oklahoma. A representative there has sponsored a bill to remove marriage for all OK citizens. He's doing so not because he wants his state to treat all citizens fairly. He's doing so because he doesn't want to allow gays to marry - gays to have equal rights, gay to have equal protection under the law. But watch this test case carefully. I predict it will go absolutely no where. The reason - there are way too many benefits the state and federal government offer to married people.

The "lifestyle" of married straight folks
have been subsidized by gays denied the same rights way too long.

AA, said it nicely. Some seem to obsess with gays. They seem to picture all kinds of wild sex taking place everywhere gays are. They worry and fret over what gays do in their bedrooms. As a gay man I can tell you, I only wish a fraction of these wild encounters were reality. But it is nice to know those so SOLIDLY SECURE in their heterosexuality spend so much time thinking about my homosexuality - it leaves them so little time to enjoy sex.

Listen people. I never said gays should be judged. Gay marriage should just never be forced on a church and my personal opinion is that its not natural.

@most men. You said it right. Humans have the right to descern the difference between animals. You in no way know which ones to accept as right and wrong. You cant use the argument "well animals do it" then turn around and say "well it wouldnt be right to do that, thats animalistic and we know better". Doesnt make any sense.

And on a non religious level. I cant believe that in evolution (based on the "its a genetic trait" nonsense) would allow a genetic trait, that hinders the procreation and perfection of a species. I mean evolution is all about further propagating and perfecting a species right? Then why would it hold on to a trait that isnt conduciveto that and hinders procreation? Again, doesnt make sense.

Animals do commit homosexual/same gender sexual acts, any half wit who has ever had many dogs has seen two male dogs where one is trying to mount the other! Is it genetic, animal lust/desire do not know, never gave it much thought! I think we live in a time where some think their heterosexual sins are less serious than the homosexuals sins, both are sins! I have never worried what the gays are doing, figure I got enough to answer for in my heterosexual sins, every time I had sex outside marriage was a sin, if one divorces ones wife for any other reason than adultery its not condoned and every subsequent marriage is a sin! I think some folks can see the splinter in everyone else's eye but miss that big old timber in their own!

@ pl ....

And where did you get that piece of FALSE information? I happen to have known squirrels and raccoons on a personal level and they don't discriminate based on whether their corn is Monsanto GMO or not. And while I'm not as familiar with rats, considering that they are the bottom of the barrel trash eaters (squirrels and raccoons are actually very selective when digging through trash looking for something to eat) I doubt they would turn away from Monsanto GMO either. Incidentally, GMO's have been around for decades...this is nothing new.

I believe Dr. King was an advocate for equality among men in all things.

I know that marriage is a religious institution.

I know that the State only got involved in this religious matter after the civil war, in an effort to prevent inter-racial marriages. In effect, a right (who you want to spend your life with) became a privilege (having to obtain a license -permission- from the State).

The answer here is clear. Remove the state from the church. If ANY adults want to consent to be life partners in a legal way, states can issue "civil unions" to all legal, consenting adults. This is exactly like the "marriage licenses" given today, with only a name change.

For those who wish to engage in a religious ceremony of their choice, they are free to do so, but it is a separate and distinct ceremony withing that religious system....just like it is now (Judeo-Christian "marriage", African and Pagan "jumping the broom" ceremonies, etc).

In short, the only thing to change is the name of the State issued document and protection of churches' right to not marry persons for whom that ceremony would violate the tenets of their faith, which is in some of the legislation being pushed by LGBTQ agendas.

I am 100% for civil union equality.

Article comment by: Man, Well Most Men Have a Brain

One must take TJ's comments as comical. They must be. Let's look at the fact that homosexual activity takes place throughout the animal kingdom (of which mankind is part of). TJ's looks at it as I don't believe that therefore it doesn't exist. He points out despicable animal activities. Poor thing, he apparently doesn't understand there is one major difference in man. Man's brain allows him to think rationally and understand that he must not participate in many "animal" activities, if he is to build a functioning society. Activities which harm an unwilling participate. Consensual sex means parties wish to participate and any "rational" human would understand that mean homosexual activity as well as heterosexual activity. To try to state an argument against the very existence of homosexual activity throughout the animal kingdom is, well irrational.

And then there is Amaryllis. He honestly doesn't understand the whole gay thing. And that is not a condemnation. His assertion that there is a DDT type connect to this gay thing illustrates he is trying to understand and has empathy. First Amaryllis understand homosexuals have been around since the beginning of time. To really understand homosexuality, one needs to read a wide selection of studies available.

like i said, a dog also has relations with a couch cushion, what does that make the dog? there is no way to tell whatsoever if there is homosexual emotion behind their actions. what you are saying is completely based upon sex. also, respond to my entire post, not just half. if you want to compare us to animalistic behavior....lions eat their children, is that okay? dogs have sex with couch cusshions, is that normal human behavior? monkeys throw feces at each other...should we do that too?? anson, your entire response solely dealt with sexual relations between animals as an argument to homosexuality...is that all you view homosexuality as??? hmmm, seems worse than what i said.

“Completely, 100% made up statement with absolutely ZERO findings or facts to back it up. So made up its almost laughable!!”

No, Teeje, what is truly laughable is how you show up here spewing utter nonsense that can be disproved with a modicum of research.

Now, let’s look at the facts – “Homosexual behavior in animals is sexual behavior among non-human that may include sexual activity, courtship, affection, pair bonding, and parenting among same-sex animal pairs. As of 1999, nearly 1,500 species, ranging from primates to gut worms, have been observed engaging in same-sex behaviors.” (Bruce Bagemihl, Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity, St. Martin's Press, 1999”

Now for a partial list -
Mammals
Bison
Brown Bear
Caribou
Cat
Cattle
Chimpanzee
Dolphin
Dog
Elephant
Fox
Giraffe
Goat
Horse
Lion
Orca
Raccoon

Birds
Barn Owl
Chicken
Penguin
Mallard
Raven
Seagull

Add to that reptiles, fish, insects and amphibians.

Now, please respond with your...oh never mind. It won’t make any sense anyway. And BTW – you’re welcome.

"ooooh progressives, always good for a chuckle.”

Oooooh, righties, always good for a mass of misinformation along with outright laughter.

Homosexuality is recognized in almost every species of mammal on earth at an approx rate of 10% of the species. Born that way - not a choice. Always has been and likely always will be.

And for anyone to pick and choose Leviticus as an example of how to live your life, I'd suggest that you do, in fact live your life by the teachings of Leviticus and you'd go to jail very quickly. Educate yourself.
