Letter of thanks: A wild ball of teeth and claws

I'm writing a "thank you" to the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic.

We had a semi-feral cat that would only come around when she was pregnant. She would stay while the kittens were still nursing and then she would disappear until she came back pregnant again.

We tried on several occasions to capture her so we could get her spayed but as we attempted to get her into a carrier she became a wild ball of teeth and claws, backing us off each time.

Kristen, who works with the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic, came to our aid. She provided us with a trap and a large carrier and made arrangements for us to take the cat to the clinic. Although we had just given away her last litter, the cat was already pregnant again. Kristen even helped with the extra cost for spaying a pregnant animal.

I can't tell you how relieved we are that we don't have to deal with finding homes for multiple kittens each year. And the mother cat has become more domestic since she's been fixed. She has not been leaving anymore and though still skittish, she's calmer and even lets us pet her sometimes.

If anyone else has been having a similar problem, I suggest that they call the Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic and see if Kristen can help them as well.

Again, a big "Thank you" to Kristen and the Spay and Neuter Clinic.

Susan Perea

Well, I am very honored to help you & V Stokes. Y'all are just a few of the many kitties my husband & I have helped through out the Community. Both situations are CLASSIC cases of: there's a stray cat who wanders into your back yard, you start feeding it, AND Guess what next thing you know the Cat was never spayed originally & gets pregnant!! Some cats are true survivors & elude the normal means to trap a cat!! I'm just glad in both of these examples the cats were finally caught & spayed (because they were Two Little Breeding Machines). No MORE Babies for them!! These two families cooperated & were part of the solution. I can not do it alone, it takes a village...Thanks for the kind words & for supporting the Pet Angel Spay/Neuter Program. If anyone would like to help more Kitties we are about to have another Yard Sale to help raise funds to assist people to Spay/Neuter. 100% goes back to the Community to help them be part of the Solution. Just to clarify. Kristin does work for Low Cost and is responsible for keeping the Clinic Busier than a Beehive. With their prices so low the volume is what keeps them in business. They do it for the Animals. Kristin and I have dedicated the last 7 yrs since moving to Kingman to make a difference in the OverPopulation of animals here. They Kill @ 1000 Healthy Adoptable animals Monthly at our Shelters. As Much as this is Tragic it will all Get Better when each and everyone of us realize these stories being told here are happening Daily in Hundreds of households. Won't You Please Call The Shelter and Get a SNIP Voucher to reduce the cost even further by using Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic. It's the ONLY WAY more Animals Will LIVE, everyone Must do their Part Please.

100% agree Susan...
I had a similar situation. I was able to trap 2 litters before finally catching Momma. The kittens were adopted out and Momma is now fixed and much more docile. Kristen and the LCS&N clinic are great !

If anyone has a feral cat problem...I highly encourage you to call the clinic for help. If funds are an issue...they can help with that in most cases.
