Letter of thanks: Restaurateur left holding the bags

Dear Mark Jass,

On the morning of Jan. 27, my husband and I arrived in Kingman to board an eastbound train to Nebraska at 2:30 the following morning. We had big plans to store our bags at the station while we spent the day exploring your town. Alas! The station was not to open until later that night.

We ate a fabulous lunch at El Palacio's after which you so generously offered to keep our things in your restaurant until the station opened its doors. Thanks for your kindness, we had an enjoyable day visiting the museum and shops in your town.

My husband, a Lutheran pastor, told a beautiful story about you in one of his sermons. The sermon received a spontaneous standing ovation and round of applause and I wanted to share it with you. Thanks so much for your warm welcome.

Mary Youngerman

You need to keep brushed up on your kingman restaurant gossip...dora sold out to the folks that were running lombardos and it's now called the garlic clove. In case you don't get out much kingman steakhouse has moved to kino into the closed chinese buffet and it's now called kingman chophouse.

I agree 100 percent with Dora Manley, it is a wonderful letter, and certainly nothing more than the El Palacio owners and staff deserve. El Palacio is a great addition to the area, wonderful food, friendly and caring staff and fair pricing. It would be perfect if only they would send someone by the table every once in a while to remind me that I'm probably way over-doing it on the chips, salsa and steak fajitas!
As an aside, it's so refreshing to see another restaurateur be the first to comment in a positive way on this. You've got a lot of class Dora.

What a GREAT letter!
Thank you El Palacio for helping Mary Youngerman create a lovely memory of her short stay in Kingman Arizona.
