I read the story in the Daily Miner that appeared on the front page about hoping that the quiet zone will happen before the Route 66 festival. This train noise thing has gotten to be ridiculous. Kingman is a railroad town. If people don't like hearing a train horn, then they shouldn't have bought a house that is close to the railroad tracks.
These people who are complaining about the train horn and the noise need to do some thinking. That engineer has to toot that horn when he is a certain distance from a crossing. There have been times when a person didn't see a train coming, but heard the horn.
Put yourself in the engineer's position. If someone pulls in front of that train, there is no way that he can stop that train. Those trains haul a lot of freight. You people that complain about train noise - get a life. There are a lot worse things to complain about than train horn noise.
If the engineer laid on the horn all the way through Kingman, then that would be a different story. But, he doesn't.
