Reader Letter: Party seeks electors

American Third Position is a political party that has been in existence since January 2010. American Third Position, or A3P, is a political party that promotes the ethnic interests of white people. We are in favor of deporting illegal immigrants, and we oppose all forms of affirmative action. Our website is http://american3rdposition.com.

A3P fielded a candidate for president this last election. The candidate was Merlin Miller. Merlin Miller is a moviemaker by profession. He is a graduate of West Point. He has four daughters, three of whom are West Point graduates.

Merlin Miller's running mate was Virginia Abernethy. Virginia Abernethy is a professor emeritus at Vanderbilt University.

A3P achieved ballot status in Tennessee, New Jersey and Colorado. In addition, it obtained write-in status in at least six other states. Merlin Miller ended up getting slightly more than 3,000 votes. His primary objective was to make the American public aware that we exist.

Unfortunately, he did not have write-in status in Arizona. Applying for write-in status can be involved when you have a candidate running for president of the United States. You have to comply with the requirements of the Electoral College. When you vote for a candidate, you are actually voting for a slate of electors. Arizona has 11 electoral votes. To apply for write-in statue, you have to submit the names of 11 electors.

Pursuant to this, I have set a goal to have at least 11 dues-paying members by the time the 2016 election rolls around. We can apply for write-in status then.

This White Liberal Gay Atheist Democrat see's this group as nothing more than a Racist Tea Party, no thank you, thank you also for giving us the names of those who ran in this White Supremacy Racist Group. I understand in rural areas and areas where the white citizen get's all their information from FOX News but let's be totally clear, this is a RACIST GROUP. NO, we are not going back to the days of Jim Crowe or the KKK, Shame on you all for thinking they are the answer!

Any party that states "promotes the ethnic interests of white people." makes me think that the Aryan Nation may behind them or the KKK. Have we not grown as a country to see this is not a good idea.
Its okay with you for these non-white citizens to go to war for your right to have this "Party", but you don't want to make sure their interests are covered too.
Go back to the drawing board, maybe if you changed your mission statement your candidates might get more than 3000 votes.

“At least this party is up front about what it's about, unlike the Democrat Party.”

Would be able to provide any empirical evidence to back up that assertion? Thank you.

At least this party is up front about what it's about, unlike the Democrat Party. At least it's HONEST. Not that I endorse what it's goals are.

@OKR

"I hope that this country never elects a president whose party's platform primarily states that it represents the interests (ethnic or otherwise) of any particular racial group."

Indeed, very well said.

Only in Kingman would a newspaper publish a letter like this. Welcome to the 21st Century Confederacy!

Not that I agree with your goals, but I'm glad to see that you state them here, which gives the readers an opportunity to learn about your party and to consider whether your party reflects their own interests or not.

And Lady Liberty first lowers her eyes, then her head. With her head bowed, she quietly weeps.
