Kingman Letter: Country needs action, not comments

We the people are the problem and the solution to our country's woes, when we keep electing the same people to the House and the Senate decade after decade, with no results except the inside traders are now the real 1-percenters with money gained from what most go to jail for.

We continue to accept a two-party debate when there are at least seven parties running. We buy the lies on TV. It is faster than doing real research on a candidate.

No, I do not need your comments. You can send them to P.O. Box 908, Kingman, AZ 86402 - if, and only if, you want serious discussions about serious problems.

Don't hide behind your computer; get into action.

And when confronted (by me among others) she readily admitted to having been led astray and corrected her initial post, something we have yet to see a so-called conservative do here.

Let see, put armed guards at schools, might help prevent some deaths in schools. Ban some guns, magazines, and certain bullets, nope, won't do nothing. Confiscate weapons, won't help, outlaws won't comply along with many law abiding gun owners, may even start a civil war. Background checks when buying ammo, nope, that won't work either, to many reloaders out there, plus it will create a bigger black market and pull revenue from big business. Seems to me that doing anything other than putting safety measures in schools, the only thing that will happen is you'll make millions of law abiding citizens in the U.S. automatic criminals and that is if it don't create a blood bath. The real answer still comes down to people getting involved and not banning guns and accessories.

Ummm......chance is yes. Some of them are the newspaper, some are regular "columnists" if you want to call them that. Mostly right wing.

“How can anyone but flippin' liberals write some of this stuff?”

Uhh, yes, some of us here are Liberals that express our opinion.

“Most of them should be reading up and researching the issues before jumping into opinions here.”

Actually the misinformation that appears here the most often (Birther nonsense, the president is gay, death panles, ad nauseum) are from so called conservatives. Liberals deal with facts and not internet chain e-mail rumors.

Who are all these regular commenters in the paper editorial pages? Are they by chance hired employees of the paper, spreading the political values of the Editor in Chiefs views? How can anyone but flippin' liberals write some of this stuff? Most of them should be reading up and researching the issues before jumping into opinions here.

“When Obama does something good, I'll mention it. Hasn't happened yet, and don't hold your breath.”

Here you go -

The economy is on the mend with lowest jobless claims in four years, factory output 15% higher than at its lowest point 2 ½ years ago, oil imports lower and domestic production up in the last three years.

More illegal immigrants captured and deported (more than 450,000 last year) over the past 3.5 years than during the Reign of error of The Criminal.

American auto industry on verge of collapse four years ago was saved. Hundreds of thousands of jobs saved.

Osama bin Laden killed.

95% of Americans paying a lower rate of taxes as compared to three years ago.

War in Iraq ended with all combat troops now out of the country.

Ended DADT with no negative impact to the troops.

Tax credits for businesses that hire returning veterans.

Health care reform—no more refusal of coverage of preexisting conditions, children can stay on parent’s insurance until 26, closed prescription donut hole for seniors. More reforms to come.

Financial industry and credit card industry reform which led to the formation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

And why do you feel that ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work is wrong? Health care for children is wrong? Enforcing fraud laws is wrong? Protecting Americans from the abuses of the credit card industry is wrong? Shutting down off-shore tax havens used by drug dealers and thieves is wrong? Providing criminal penalties for mortgage fraud is wrong? Adding additional loan programs for small businesses is wrong? Shutting off access to federal contracts by tax cheats is wrong? Cracking down on high seas piracy is wrong? Bringing about reforms in the student loan program is wrong?

Yes, he has done a few, and I do say few, good things. Sad part is, most people can't pull their heads out of Fox News long enough to hear about it.

“anson stated that he stole the remaining funds from the business. you cant steal remaining funds that you own.”

It’s called embezzlement and Willard did not OWN the businesses, Bain capital did.

”clinton was a draft dodger anson,”

Wrong. As much as I hate to admit it, the Dark Lord Cheney was also not a draft dodger because he had five legal deferments. Willard – well, he had a bought and paid for deferment and in my book that makes him a draft dodger – made even more onerous by his marching around Stanford carrying a sign in support of the war. Total sleaze.

“right wing loon idiot fridge, again anson, dont act like you are above calling names”

I never said I was “above calling names” I said that I had never called a member of Congress a COW or stooped to that level.

“Olevia LCD TV's - based in tempe Arizona, Element TV's based in Detroit, ZT computer systems, made in the usa, puget systems- made in the usa, lotus computer systems- made in the WHEEERE? USA!”

“looks like you do have options anson, where is your excuse now?”

Actually all of the above are assembled in the USA using parts imported from Malaysia and China. So my supposed “options” do not exist. I have HP computers (a total of four in my office) along with HP peripherals (all, for the most part, assembled in the USA using imported parts). So the options that you talk about actually do not exist. Heck even my GMC Yukon has parts made in Malaysia, Canada, and Mexico – so even “options” do not exist in motor vehicles.

No Wonder:

Let's see - Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Had a husband and two brothers stationed over there. They have been.

How about you? Did you visit NYC after the towers were knocked down? Have you visited all the beautifully kept French cemeteries in France with row upon row upon row of white crosses - on top of graves of American soldiers who died on the battlefields there helping liberate our friends?

If you hate us so much, why don't you move to Japan? And in the meantime, before you go, how about sitting down and reading The Rape of Nanking and Flags of our Fathers.

The first is Iris Chang's account of the forgotten holocaust of WWII.

Throw in Hampton Sides Ghost Solders - our heroic effort to free 513 American soldiers languishing in a Japanese death camp in the Phillipines, one of the worst where they battled starvation, torture and disease. A testament to the human spirit of Americans.

I hate war. But the Japanese brought on Nagasaki and Hiroshima themselves. Noone wants to see innocents suffer and die but bombing those cities saved one million others from dying. Judging by the buses at the Grand Canyon, they apparently got over it.

"It is funny how the left wing media never mentioned the many, well known, businesses that were bought and turned around by Bain Capital, and all of the jobs that were saved as a result."

Kind of like how funny it is that people like you and the right wing media can never mention any of the good things Obama has done while President and can only focus on the mistakes made.

@T J

"1. how do you steal money from a private company that you own?"

Bain didn't own many of the companies they bankrupted.

1. Pension funds are supposed be sacrosanct and only the most low-lie sleazes will steal them.

2. No Clinton was not a “draft dodger.” He had a legitimate deferral based on attending university, unlike Willard whose daddy intervened to buy him a deferment through the church - in spite of Wilalrd be a supporter of the war.

3. You are correct Romney is no longer relevant, but he must always be brought up to remind people of the type of person the Right Wing Loon Idiot Fringe will support, even though he really didn’t want to be president.

4. When faced with no choice in the purchase of consumer items you are stuck with buying foreign made products. But Willard had the choice to buy an American SUV made by American workers in America and instead chose to buy a foreign product.

a few things anson.

1. how do you steal money from a private company that you own?

2. clinton was also a draft dodger.

3. why are you still concerned with romney when he is no longer relevant?

4. the computer youre typing on, the cell phone in your pocket and the tv in your living room are all made overseas but you still buy them right?

“The businesses Romney's company bought were already in trouble and were headed for bankruptcy prior to the sale.”

Not accurate in all cases. However, there was no attempt to make the businesses viable as Willard stole any remaining funds from the business, put American workers out on the street, stole the pension funds of American workers and shipped those American jobs to COMMUNIST CHINA – an enemy we fought in the Vietnam War. Willard then took the funds he garnered from the destruction of these American businesses and invested in COMMUNIST CHINESE sweat shops and COMMUNIST CHINESE companies who specialized in stealing the intellectual properties of American companies. And to add insult to injury Willard then hid his money off shore in Ireland, Switzerland, The Cayman Islands and Bermuda to avoid paying taxes.

To defend this anti-American sleaze who has shown nothing but disdain for this nation throughout his life – from dodging the draft while being a war supporter to buying an expensive SUV built overseas – is, at best, disingenuous and at worst also anti-American.

@Anson

Gore sold his network to Al Jazeera without considering higher bidders. His priority was selling to a buyer who was more closely aligned with his beliefs.

The businesses Romney's company bought were already in trouble and were headed for bankruptcy prior to the sale. It would not have been profitable for them to buy thriving businesses.

They turned around the businesses that were redeemable and resold them. The businesses that couldn't be revamped were dismantled.

It is like the people who buy buildings that are falling apart. If the amount of money it would cost to renovate them is reasonable, the building gets renovated and resold for a profit. If the building is too far gone to be renovated, it is demolished and some reclaimable materials are resold.

It is funny how the left wing media never mentioned the many, well known, businesses that were bought and turned around by Bain Capital, and all of the jobs that were saved as a result.

Nope! Didn't forget, will never forget. I had to go back over there several times. Lost many friends and I was bitter. They killed thousands, so we killed millions. Still doesn't make it right and I don't need to read about it. If you ever get a chance to get out of your glass house, go visit Nagasaki and Hiroshima, it will humble you.

And again, our war with islam started when they flew two of our jets into our twin towers and killed thousands.

Big difference! Your remark to me is actually unamerican. Ever read any WWII books? Every seen how the Japanese soldiers treated our prisoners. Ever heard of the Bataan Death march and camps?

No, you have probably only heard of us putting Japanese in camps here, right?

Many Americans today do not even deserve the great liberty they live in here.
