Kingman letters: A nutty gun decision

To the supervisors:

Are you people nuts? Or don't you have any common sense at all? Didn't you learn anything from Columbine, Connecticut, and the other shootings around the country? If you let people walk into the County Administration Building, you may be the ones shot by someone who is mad at you, or maybe someone who goes to pay their taxes and is mad because they think the taxes are too high!

We just took a step backward to the old Wild West. I seriously think you should rethink your vote before some innocent people die. Don't let your lack of common sense get innocent people killed. Please!

A very concerned citizen and friend ...

“And as typical of you, not a single example given by you of any story that the website has ‘altered.’”

Obviously YOU have never followed the links.

”… except of course to respond each and every time. If I remember correctly, you have also told others to ‘ignore’ me in the past. Just cannot take your own advice it seems.”

I always respond to nonsense. And yes, I have told others to ignore you because of a habit you have of taking things out of context or making up quotes.

“Dance, leftist, dance. I'll let you know when you have my permission to stop.”

Thank you, but I do not need your permission to do anything, least of all some sophomoric reference to dancing. Pathetic – as always.

And now when can I expect your next attack on my military service?

And hey, it nice to see you continue to not give any "serious attention" to anything that I see.......except of course to respond each and every time. If I remember correctly, you have also told others to "ignore" me in the past. Just cannot take your own advice it seems.

Dance, leftist, dance. I'll let you know when you have my permission to stop.

on another thread, I recommend former New York State education official John Taylor Gatto's YouTube videos on reforming America's school system. While that remains his overriding topic, he at time offers historical research on other subjects, as well. From this research, he states that freedom begins to be lost when a nation's citizenry is not armed AS WELL AS the Government. The video link is www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGYyV7yMpY and the comment is made at 35:52 in the video.

“The links they provide for each story and you will be taken to either a newspaper story or a local tv news story about their incident.’

Hmm, exact same thing Media Matter does. So what’s your point?

“Your comment reveals you did not bother to check out a single story.”

As usual a comment based on a total lack of knowledge. I did check out more than one story and followed the links and found that YOUR website has massaged the stories to better fit their agenda. Pathetic.

Yes, I know and the same thing can be said for Media Matters. So what’s your complaint?

“Your comment reveals you did not bother to check out a single story.”

And again a statement with no basis in fact. Why do you keep doing that? I did check out the stories and followed the links and discovered that what “your favorite” site does is “massage” stories to better fit their agenda. I am not contending the stories are not true on the site, just that they’ve been altered.

But please keep on spinning as to why “YOUR” site is better than other sites that provide links to actual stories.

"So, you now claim that “your favorite” site that posts only stories about righties using weapons in is not biased."

Ah, so now people in news stories, people whose political leanings you do not even know, are "righties" for defending themselves from criminals? So are you against people defending themselves, or just against local news outlets reporting on it? I read a lot of threads at democratic underground where comments will pop up at every thread on a self defense story to say it is just "gun porn". Gun grabbers really hate those stories only because it destroys the lie that no one needs a gun for self defense.

The links they provide for each story and you will be taken to either a newspaper story or a local tv news story about their incident. Your comment reveals you did not bother to check out a single story.

By the way, media matters does not even attempt to deny they are a leftist website. All gunssavelives does for the most part is provide news links of people defending themselves.

LoL

“So let me get this straight. You think that a website which provides direct links to actual new stories from many different areas of people defending themselves with guns is somehow ‘biased’?”

Well, lets consider your response when I have used Media Matters as a source. Media Matters posts transcripts, videos and direct links to Right Wing making fools of themselves and yet you said they were a “lefty biased full of crap site.” So, you now claim that “your favorite” site that posts only stories about righties using weapons in is not biased. As you so often like to say – in that clever sophomoric manner – LOL! In fact LMFAO!

“While they do have articles on efforts by gun-grabbers (aka: leftist democrats like you)…”

And again, with no basis in fact, you post garbage about me. I am not a “gun grabber” as you have been told numerous times. I own numerous weapons, am usually armed and (although you make fun of it) I hold CWPs. No one is going to “grab” your guns, but evidence seems to indicate that if background checks were fully implemented you would be unable to buy much beyond a cap pistol.

It mystifies me to no end why righties ALWAYS have to post things they know nothing about it. Oh wait, that is just modus operandi for righties.

"I did visit the web-site and all I saw was a bunch of stories biased towards one point of view – I thought you hated that kind of thing? In fact the site almost makes FAUX News look like an actual news organization."

So let me get this straight. You think that a website which provides direct links to actual new stories from many different areas of people defending themselves with guns is somehow "biased"? In what way? Did you miss the part in the name that says "Guns Save Lives". The only way they could be "biased" is if you think people do not have a right to defend themselves. Oh wait, as a leftist, you, perhaps, don't believe people should be able to defend themselves, even in their homes.

While they do have articles on efforts by gun-grabbers (aka: leftist democrats like you) to pass new laws restricting or doing away with our 2nd Amendment rights, what do you expect? Restrict peoples right to defend themselves is certainly a threat to us.

LOL

It will be interesting to see if you are slammed for your shotgun suggestion the way I was when I promoted the same things few months back. Shotgun = perfect weapon for home defense. Don't need to aim - point and shoot works quite well.

All the website does is reprint new stories from all over in which homeowners, business owners, and others have used guns to protect themselves. You know, the stories that rarely make it beyond the local news arena.

So I will LOVE to hear you expain what is actually wrong with the source I used. Maybe you should actually go to it this time.

Amazing how many people are willing to give up rights and freedoms.
I recommend everyone own a weapon to protect your self and family. My choice would be a pump shotgun and 00 buckshot shells.Maybe some # 6 and some bird shot#7.
Wake up and look around.

And speaking of guns, this story is for all our local gun-grabbers.

A woman in Texas is home watching tv. Two teenagers break in, armed, to rob the place. Woman runs elsewhere in the house to get her gun. She calls her husband who is on the property but not in the house. He comes running, gets his rifle and starts shooting, hitting one of the criminals in the foot. The teens take off after shooting up the house. They were found nearby, dead, having shot themselves. Thus saving taxpayers a lot of money in future costs for these two.

I love a story with a real happy ending, don't you?

Article comment by: a well-regulated militia .....

In the 1939 United States vs. Miller case, the term "a well-regulated militia" was determined to mean "well-manned and equipped". The determination inlcuded the premise that these armed citizens were not necessarily undrr an organised government command. Benjamin Franklin's autobiography was heavily referenced in the court proceedings.

And in very recent gun related news:

"Feinstein Says She’s Not Done With Gun Grab: “I’m Not Going To Lay Down And Play Dead”

“This is very important to me and I’m not gong to lay down and play dead,” she said on CNN. “I think the American people have said in every single public poll that they support this kind of legislation.”

Reid earlier Tuesday said the Senate would vote on Feinstein’s bill as an amendment to the broader gun-reform package, but that it would not be packaged with some of the less-controversial measures that deal with increasing school safety, and cracking down on straw purchasers.

Reid defended the decision to reporters, predicting Feinstein’s legislation wouldn’t pull a majority even in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

It must really suck to be gun grabber Sen Feinstein right now. Even her fellow senators are not going along with her.

the left-versus-right paradigm goes back centuries, even though the form of it has varied in detail. You could describe its roots in terms of the populism which arose in Europe against hereditary ruling dynasties allied with the Catholic Church. What really began to scare people was when Jewish theoreticians like Marx, and those that followed, constructed a world view and activist social policy which utterly left out God (not that Robespierre and his merry little band of gutter wretches, rapists/paedophiles, and megalomaniacs believed in God). There are legitimate aspects of the liberal and the conservative points of view in America, and referring to wither expression as "putrid" or other in other vilifying terms usually is not on the same level as the best points of each view. I think that attacking specific applications of those two views is much more relevant - i.e., abortions (leftist), or policies making life more difficult for the nation's specially-challenged peoples (conservative).

And again what you continually fail to acknowledge is that the STATE is the PEOPLE who are INDIVIDUALS. Without the consent of the people the state would not exist. Therefore the 2nd Amendment exists to protect the people, not the state.

“… held that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects an INDIVIDUAL'S right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes..”

I never said the Second Amendment does not protect an individuals right to possess firearms. What I said is that the Second Amendment specifically protects the State (i.e. the government). To wit, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free STATE….”

Actually it is amazing how you still just won't get it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_v._Heller

"District of Columbia v. Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008), was a landmark case in which the Supreme Court of the United States held that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects an INDIVIDUAL'S right to possess a firearm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home and within federal enclaves. The decision did not address the question of whether the Second Amendment extends beyond federal enclaves to the states,[1] which was addressed later by McDonald v. Chicago (2010). It was the first Supreme Court case in United States history to decide whether the Second Amendment protects an INDIVIDUAL right to keep and bear arms for self-defense." INDIVIDUAL emphasis was added by me.
