Letter: Let's get impeachment started

I am imploring the people of Kingman, if they agree, to contact our Rep. (Paul Gosar) by phone, email and letter to start impeachment hearings in the House now.

This is not a partisan matter; this is not a revenge plot. This is what we need to do for our children, if we believe in America. The time is ripe and despite bickering on point, I firmly believe President Obama violated his Oath of Office - false swearing coupled with sundry conspiracies would suffice. I do not relish the immediate outcome (Biden), but if we unite and actually impeach, we have won a major victory, which will not be ignored.

We are the people; we must act, but in a manner consistent with our laws. Rep. Gosar is sympathetic and must begin the journey to show the world we are still a free country of voters who support due process of law and enforce it. Please support me peacefully.

If not now, when?

Mary Ellen Jazwin

Article comment by: Republican Party - Party of No, No, No

Curious minds want to know. Since the Republican stance is "Government can't create jobs" why do they fight so hard to block so-called job creation bill of the Democrats?

“The government can't create jobs in the private sector.”

So private contractors who are awarded contracts to repair/build bridges, schools, roads, et al, are not creating jobs when they hire workers to do that work/ Fascinating. I did not know that.

“The national debt, Obama Care, and excessive regulations, are all examples of reasons why job growth has been non-existent during the past 5 years.”

No, job growth has been “non-existent” (incorrect, but we understand your confusion) because the Republicans have blocked every jobs bill put forth by the president that would improve, repair and create infrastructure. Since the Republicans claiming in 2010 that JOBS, JOBS, JOBS would be their number one priority if they were elected, any deficiency is such job creation rests solely with the Republicans.

“The Republicans have passes legislation in the house to repeal Obama Care and pass a balanced budget.”

Neither of which has anything to do with job creation and the time and money wasted on the 37 (or is it now 38) votes by the Republicans on repealing the ACA is just proof positive that they are not the least interested in jobs.

I support you on this. It's good to hear people come out and openly act. I have written the congressman on this, and I have called him way before these most recent issues.

@ Republicans are using you

The government can't create jobs in the private sector. However, the government can do a lot to hamper private sector job growth.

The national debt, Obama Care, and excessive regulations, are all examples of reasons why job growth has been non-existent during the past 5 years.

The Republicans have passes legislation in the house to repeal Obama Care and pass a balanced budget.

It was the Democrat controlled Senate that refused to vote on these bills.

We have had 4.5 years of waiting for the big government "solution" for unemployment to work after the Stimulus went through....... Still waiting.

This impeachment b.s. is another waste of time that will go nowhere. Even if it was a viable option, which it's not, it would take too long. Republicans and conservatives of either party need to start looking ahead to 2016 with some positive ideas and legitimate candidates. Obama got elected in 2012 because they wasted time, money and energy about his birth certificate, his middle name, etc. etc. which were all nonsense issues, when they should have been screaming about his lack of experience in anything remotely needed to run a country, his historical leanings toward the far far left etc. etc. If they don't focus on the important stuff next time around, who knows what we may get. Probably Hilary, which would be better than Obama but not particularly good for America. Of course, this is just my opinion and I have no empirical evidence but I do have the right to the opinion.

Ms Athens

“As far as impeachable offenses, there are many but at the top of my list is the fraudulent birth certificate obama presented.”

Still wrong. It was wrong five years ago when you first began posting it, it was wrong when you posted it last week and it will be wrong when you post it next week.

“In fact, Sheriff Arpaio and others have taken it to the Senate where those viewing the evidence are flabbergasted and we will be hearing much more about it.”

Actually Shuruff Joe, after making a complete fool of himself, has backed away and kept his mouth shut and there is nothing coming that “we will be hearing much more about.” Every time you use that line nothing appears. Oh wait, you get that line from Glenn Beck. Now that is funny!

“When the real truth finally hits the American people, they will be stunned at the audacity of this man to commit this act right under the noses of American citizens.”

The real truth is Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 4 August 1961 and nothing you say will ever alter that fact.

David, since you are so supportive of the Republicans obstructing tactics perhaps you could explain why before the election Boehner and other Republicans ran around the country saying if they got voted in."Jobs are Job #1). Then after the election not one job bill was even allowed to be introduced in the Republican controlled House?

Highly Funny

“Don't forget NAFTA! That was during Clinton's time, but since he was a Democrat, I'm sure people want to forgive and forget for that.”

Too bad you didn’t spend five minutes to learn that NAFTA was signed by G H W Bush along with the leaders of Canada and Mexico.

“I think NAFTA and other ideas like it should be shut down, so that it isn't as cheap for these companies to create products outside of the US.”

I agree completely. But as long as people want to support Chinese abortion by shopping at Wal-Mart we will be stuck with cheap crap that breaks or fails to function.

Ashley:

We're not a democracy (mob rule), we're a Constitutional Republic and to keep it fair between the states, we need the Electoral College.

As far as impeachable offenses, there are many but at the top of my list is the fraudulent birth certificate obama presented.

While some may laugh at that or think it doesn't really exist, it certainly does.

In fact, Sheriff Arpaio and others have taken it to the Senate where those viewing the evidence are flabbergasted and we will be hearing much more about it.

When the real truth finally hits the American people, they will be stunned at the audacity of this man to commit this act right under the noses of American citizens.

Shows you how far down the chain of caring about truth we have fallen.

The above GOP congressman is also trying to bring criminal charges against Obama, but if one reads the entire article he had legal troubles of his own in his past as a politician, but hey you birthers, secessionists need help in congress for your efforts he seems like a like minded fellow!

Don't forget NAFTA! That was during Clinton's time, but since he was a Democrat, I'm sure people want to forgive and forget for that.

I'm pretty middle of the road with my views. I agree with some from each party and I disagree with some from each party. But I do feel that when Clinton enacted NAFTA, that is when many of our factories moved out of the country to be built elsewhere so their labor would be cheaper.

In our country, we're all about the low prices. But quite often with low prices, you can expect shoddy workmanship. I would rather pay more for an item and know that it was made correctly and won't break on me in a little while down the road.

I think NAFTA and other ideas like it should be shut down, so that it isn't as cheap for these companies to create products outside of the US. Then the jobs would come back here, we'd have jobs for American workers with a good per hour wage, and we'd be able to afford the things we create.

But that's just my opinion

Impeachment is a VERY serious charge against the President exactly what charges are you contemplating against him- I mean the kind that STAND UP IN COURT?
Besides your obvious hysteria you seem to lack any cohesive information besides "The sky is falling The sky is falling!". Calm down. Be realistic and have facts to prove your wishful charges.

What we really need to do is do away with the electoral college. Until that is accomplished, we don't even deserve to call this country a "Democracy".

@ David Gaither
Yes. Thank you Republicans for continually to shoot themselves in the foot and showing the American people your true colors. It’s pretty sad when some of your elder statesmen are calling the party out (I.E. Bob Dole) Ronald Reagan would be rolling in his grave if he knew what the GOP has become today. Yes. Thank you Republicans. Keep it up and you will find yourselves having the same fate as the Wig party after you alienate every women, Hispanic, African-American, and American under the age of 30.
Yes GOP Thank You for being a party of stupidity to quote one of your bright stars. Because of your stupidity and especially now with the House threaten to kill the Senate’s Immigration Reform Bill, you will assure that by 2020, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada and maybe Texas will be a solid Blue as California, giving the democrats solid 60 electoral votes to go along with the already 213 electoral votes. Yes Thank you GOP for assuring a democrat will be in the White House for years to come. It’s going to be hard for the GOP to win an election when the only people who vote for the GOP are old white men and the Democrats meanwhile have diverse demographic. Which is probably the reason why, the GOP is trying to suppress minority voters and trying to bring back the poll tax or as the GOP calls it voter ID laws.

“…however a second American revolution will work to protect our constitution.”

So you are advocating picking up arms (although I doubt you would actually do so) and going to war against the United States of America because you are angry? Each day I become ever more fascinated by the pure nuttiness that appears here.

I would like to ask why -

You didn't get mad when Cheney allowed Energy company officials to dictate Energy policy and push us to invade Iraq.

You didn't get mad when a covert CIA operative was outed.

You didn't get mad when the Patriot Act was passed.

You didn't get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.

You didn't get mad when Bush borrowed more money from foreign sources than the previous 42 Presidents combined.

You didn't get mad when you found out we were torturing people.

You didn't get mad when Bush embraced trade and outsourcing policies that shipped 6 million American jobs out of the country.

You didn't get mad when Bush didn't catch Bin Laden.

You didn't get mad when Bush rang up 10 trillion dollars in combined budget and current account deficits.

You didn't get mad when we gave people who had more money than they could spend, the filthy rich, over a trillion dollars in tax breaks.

You didn't get mad when lack of oversight and regulations from the Bush Administration caused US Citizens to lose 12 trillion dollars in investments, retirement, and home values.

But you got mad when a black man was elected President and decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they get sick.

As I said, pure nuttiness.

War Vet, which I doubt, since any real veteran would not advocate secession, sedition, treason, sorry these online names folks create amuse me more than anything, that is why I chose simply anonymous, seems like folks who come up with these cute names have more issues than carter has liver pills! The civil war was decided 1864, the government we have today was formed in 1776 with many amendments added along the way, revolution to me is treason, and anyone who acts violently to try and over throw the US government is a traitor and deserves nothing but scorn and a nice free federal prison cell!

“The actions that the Repubs have taken, since Obama and his gang of socialist radicals came to power, is welcomed by us traditional Americans!”

Honestly? Traditional Americans support denying women their right to personal medical care decisions? Traditional Americans support taking food away from children, the poor, the infirm and the elderly? Traditional Americans support rewarding companies for sending American jobs to Communist China? Traditional Americans want to see other Americans denied the rights of the majority of Americans?

Sorry, but your view of “traditional Americans” is what is tearing this nation apart. I am glad that I am a REAL American and not some myopic “traditional American.”

Okay, so you want to impeach Obama because you don't like him (sorry, but there is not a shred of evidence in any of these so-called "scandals" that indicates he broke the law, lied, covered anything up, etc., and I'm fairly sure you probably can't accurately define socialism, let alone explain how Obama is socialist- he's simply not), and yet you sat quietly by while Bush/Cheney lied this country into a devastating war (both in terms of lives lost and a HUGE financial drain), facilitated the wrecking of the economy by the corporate elite (something for which not a single person has yet been charged with a crime), and oversaw the largest expansion of governmental powers in recent history (Patriot Act, Homeland Security, TSA, etc.). I don't really think Obama is a great president, but the inability of conservatives to see their own hypocrisy is astounding.
Oh, and impeachment would never get past the Senate, only serving to make the House GOP look like hateful and uneducated crusaders. So, yeah, I guess go ahead with that silly endeavor.

Nope, but not ending it when he is President IS his fault.

It sounds like what you are saying is that because it money was wasted on begger nations in the past, it is okay if obama continues the practice.

LOL
