Letter: Supervisor dislikes protest march

Patriot Day was established in 2001 to remember and honor the memory of the 2,977 killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

On the 12th anniversary of the attacks, politicians in Washington, D.C., seemed to care more about being "politically correct" than about honoring a day that forever shook our nation.

The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) held a Million Muslim March on the steps of the Capitol Sept. 11, 2013, to rally about their civil rights, indefinite detention, and "slanderous" statements about Islam.

The AMPAC could have picked any other day to hold this march. By choosing to do so on 9/11 is a slap in the face to the American people and to those who lost loved ones on that day.

Washington, D.C., officials approved the AMPAC permit last Thursday while denying the patriotic motorcyclists group a permit to ride their bikes through Washington, D.C., to remember the victims of 9/11.

The patriotic motorcyclists still rode through the nation's capital, but without the permit, they were required to obey all traffic lights and stop signs.

[9/11] is a day to remember those we lost and to honor the police, fire fighters and paramedics who helped in the days following the attacks.

Buster Johnson, Mohave County Supervisor

"If Buster wants to speak out on anything without liberal pre-approval, he must become a Democrat."

Now, now......Be fair. He only has to become a RINO to get their approval. McCain is a good example of that these days.

you mean the wars the current president have continued, expanded, and started new ones as well? but that's ok right? and by Johnson, you mean President Johnson who imbedded us in Viet Nam right?

Consideering that Bush is a war criminal and spent BILLIONS on a war that he created in his own mind.

He killed Millions of INOCENT civilians (woman and children) with a LIE to the American people.

Instead of worryiing about a protest march you should be trying to have Bush arrested and tried for war crimes.

"showing they not only DO in most states in spite of Christians not being allowed to"

Incorrect. No Christian child is PREVENTED from praying in school. They can silently pray during the "moment of silence or meditation" if the school has it. They can pray at lunchtime or recess. They can pray on the bus to or from school. It is true that there is no official teacher led prayer or prayer time (of any type) since that would intrude on those students who are not religious or of the same religion.

Since Christian faiths (as far as I know) do not require a person to wash, kneel, and bow towards a certain location several times a day, they would have no impact on the other children when they pray.

Odd how some christians are all for religious freedom and tolerance...as long as it's THEIR religion, but everyone else can go jump in a lake.

I refuse to do the research for those who, taking about two minutes out of their life, can do for themselves using a search engine.

Try "Can muslims pray in public schools" and you will pull up DOZENS of sights showing they not only DO in most states in spite of Christians not being allowed to, they are given all kinds of rights Christians don't have.

And they use the court system to get their way. In Detroit, they have sharia law and Christians are second class citizens there.

Don't believe me. It is a simple matter of looking it up yourself and doing a little reading.

Don't know how. Stick to solitaire. Do know how but too lazy and like calling others stupid names instead, then, that is simply your own problem.

Buster Johnson isn’t allowed an opinion unless it is ultra-progressive, Muslim leaning and the official Obama liberal, left wing, party line.

If Buster wants to speak out on anything without liberal pre-approval, he must become a Democrat.

Then and only then can he espouse any opinion or engage in any hate speech he chooses.

We are Borg. Resistance is futile…

The liberal movement used to be the stalwart defenders of free speech, no matter how unpopular and dangerous.

I saw people getting their heads busted by cops for peaceful protesting because the cities leadership wouldn’t allow them permits, so they had to protest illegally.

Now that liberals are in charge, we see the same hateful suppression of freedoms, unfair and un-Constitutional behaviors.

I left liberal land when I got older, supported myself, military career, educated myself, learned world history, studied human behavior and basically just becoming smarter and more logical.

If I hadn’t quit being liberal then, I would have now.

Cowardly bullying, suppression of speech, persecutions of Christian and Tea Party members, Senators and president declaring them terrorists, blackmailers, and extortionists

This just today.

Liberals have become status quo. Conservatives are today’s radicals.

Couple of points: Legal Issues: Buster, as Supervisor, has every right to say what he said. After all, we live in an area with hundreds of bikers, some of which may have gone to the DC march. The biker number, some going at the last minute, was so long, it took 50 minutes to pass one section.

By comparison, 30 muslims showed, Cornel West spoke on "social justice for muslims" who already receive all the justice of other Americans and sometimes even more as we accomodate their every wish while their many mosques often preach destruction of America from within.

Originally called Million Muslim March, in socialist move, was renamed/permitted under Million American March Against Fear.

God loving Americans aren't fearful. We're mad that our forebears fought and died for the very freedoms intertopers, here to not meld in but to take us over from within, use to put forth their beliefs.

Their AMPAC statement includes "Our Prophet told us if we see an injustice, correct it with our hand.....". One complaint, "indefinite detention of Americans" signed by Obama - if on potential terrorist list. Napolitano/Homeland Security put Pro-life groups on as potential terrorists/also returning soldiers.

“A few facts – Christians…”

Usual hyperbolic nonsense and although asked dozens of times you have yet to actually show us any verification of this trash. Why post such nonsense when you know it’s untrue?

“…one public school gave lessons in Islam,…”

What school? Where” when did this ahppaen? I’ve asked before and you never reply.

“…had children dress in muslim garb.”

See above.

“Any parents who complained were called racists. One school even provided a room for muslims to have foot washings - they're often allowed time out to bow to Mecca.”

Again, see above.

“These, my friend, are FACTS!”

No ma’am, they are not facts, just utter nonsense.

“We are unable to mention Christianity upon which we were founded.”

1) You just did and 2) we were not founded as a “Christina” nation. Stop posting these lies!

Shame on Buster

"Buster's letter implies the Muslins were allowed to protest and patriotic motorcyclists were denied solely on their ethnicity. "

Really? There were many ethnic groups represented within the huge group of motorcyclists. And "Muslins" is not an ethnicity.

Shame on Buster: - who did, I would point out, use his real name. For lefties who always scream racism:

A few facts.

Christians - no Bibles in school, prayers, no Ten Commandments adorning the walls. One second grader warned of being put off the bus for wearing a cross necklace Mom bought her for Christmas. My common sense tells me her and her necklace probably wouldn't have caused a great revival. Peace symbols (upsidedown crosses) are fine - adorn everything these days. One teacher nearly fired for reading his Bible at his desk during his lunch hour. We now have just "a moment of silence" where anyone could be saying "come quickly satan" for all we know.

By comparison, one public school gave lessons in Islam, had children dress in muslim garb. Any parents who complained were called racists. One school even provided a room for muslims to have foot washings - they're often allowed time out to bow to Mecca.

These, my friend, are FACTS! A double standard? But of course. Speak up, you're a racist.

We are unable to mention Christianity upon which we were founded. Islam is ok. Fair? You decide! Fact? Absolutely!

(delete) I know of no such commands in the Bible that demands that those who will not convert to Christianity, should be KILLED! Please point me to any passage in the Bible that commands that.

It's not what Christian humans do, (we know all humans are sinners and liers), but it's what our God wants us to do. Does the Christian God demand us to kill those who will not worship Him? Allah does!

V. S. raises an interesting point. If Buster attached his position to this open letter, what other correspondence has he and will he continue to deliver "on our behalf"?

Gary, Hildy, Joy, and Steven get on it. Also, Matt Smith who represents the legal issues for the citizens, NOT ONLY THE INTERESTS OF THE BOARD MEMBERS, must look into this.

I expect more from one of our local leaders. Buster's letter implies the Muslins were allowed to protest and patriotic motorcyclists were denied solely on their ethnicity.

As a supervisor aware that there might be more behind this did he investigate further or just take the reports on Foxnews and right wing media? If he did, he'd discover according to the biker group itself, the "...National Park Service denied the permit because it would 'disrupt traffic' in what is called the 'Memorial Core' which is near the Memorial Bridge."...“NPS decided that the large ride would require closures of important roadways, block access to Rock Creek and George Washington Parkways,” the biker group posted on Facebook, “and would cause a severe disruption to traffic. A police escort would also be needed.” Also did our dear letter writer care to check the date of application by both groups?

By stoking the fires of racism Buster has brought shame to his office he holds and has empowered local racists. One only needs to read the comments regarding this letter to see how this leader leads.

Maybe Mr. Gaither should study up on his own religion. He seems to forget the crusades. How many people have died at the hands of the Christians Dave? Oh your still counting I'll wait.

V Stokes: I am unaware of Christians going in other countries and destroying their churches. Could you be more specific. Maybe I missed it.

It certainly wasn't the Crusades which muslims have wrongly been taught about. The Catholics, after hundreds of years, decided to take their own land back.

It wasn't America since first, Indians didn't believe in land ownership, nor did they have built churches.

So where please?

Incidentally, the muslims have destroyed more Christian churches than anyone on earth, beautiful thousand year old churches. Put Christian churches destroyed in a search engine for many pictures - their destruction is legion.

Only recently, burnt churches in Egypt, Syria and even Arabia recently announced all Christian churches must be gone.

"Dates, places, conquests - all important to them."

Of course christians never destroyed all other places of worship and built churches everywhere they went when they conquered a people. No, of course not.

Also, I think this letter should not have included his elected title, since this is just his personal opinion. I know that's the way it was in the military. You can have your opinion, just don't connect it to your military position.

While I am not especially pro Muslim and yes they could have picked a different day, you miss the point. This country was founded on religious freedom. When you try to tar all Muslims as terrorists you make a statement that is more or less like claiming all Christians are part of Westboro Baptist. Tolerance of others is especially valued in this country but it seems to be really lacking in Mohave County.
