Letter: Ward erred with Mexico vacation

While Congressional leaders, including U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, are pushing for the release of the U.S. Marine veteran Andrew Tahmooressi, who has been rotting in Mexican jails for over 100 days, and other concerned elected officials like Sen. Ted Cruz are trying to expose and stop the illegal aliens invasion of hundreds of thousands who are flooding our southern border with the help of the Mexican government, our Arizona State Sen. Kelli Ward is having a great time in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

In the past, I have always supported Ward when she voted according to the values of the constituents who she represents.

I attended the meeting with ADEQ hosted by Sen. Ward on June 25 in the County Administration Building. I remember a veteran during the meeting asking Sen. Ward why this public meeting did not start with the Pledge of Allegiance. Maybe it was a mistake, or maybe just another little sign.

All I know is that it is shameful to support a country with U.S. dollars that is detaining an American Marine in miserable conditions, and to support that government that is invading our country with millions of illegal aliens.

Sen. Ward, as an elected representative, I must tell you how I feel, as I'm sure many others do. As a registered Republican, and especially as an American, I am so disappointed in your vacation choice.

Enjoy your swimming, margaritas, and tacos, and don't forget about U.S. Marine Andrew Tahmooressi's extended vacation in a Mexican jail. And please don't forget to tip extra on the way out ... I am sure the Mexican government will appreciate it.

Hmmm....Sharp divisions here.
"No right to judge"? I beg to differ.
Ms. Ward is a public figure and I pay her salary. Her actions, comments, etc. are subject to public scrutiny.
One has simply to keep this (lack of judgement on her part) in mind until one sees her name on the ballot, then act accordingly.
I am surprised nobody has commented on the bigger picture, which (to me) is the opposites as far as border security is concerned. Here's ONE GUY going South who apparently took a wrong turn locked up UNDER the jail while legions are coming North carrying who knows what.

No Right To Judge. Didn't you just make a judgement call?

" you have the right to disagree, but not to judge."

No!
While I agree with your overall assessment of Ward's right to choose the destination of her privately paid for vacation, I vehemently disagree with this " no right to judge" business.

The, " no right to judge", and the demonizing of using judgement as being, "judgemental", is a liberal ploy to lower society's acceptance of all behaviors, making people believe that whatever people choose to do has the same virtue and value as anything else.

Back in the day, children were admonished to use good judgement. Now a days we have no right to judge. Look around you and tell me where this non judgemental touchy feelie acceptance has gotten us.

If someone feels that Ward's vacation destination was not an exercise in good judgement, I am thankful to them for sharing their opinion. It opens up my mind as to considerations and implications I may not have thought of.

When we are afraid to express our opinions because we don't want to be scolded as being "judgemental", then the open discourse that made our society strong for 2 centuries is lost. Which is exactly how the people who want to fundamentally transform the US like it.

Absolute hogwash and a total falsehood. Why do you insist upon doing this day in and day out?

Plus, what part of the Marine BROKE THE LAW DON’T YOU GET?

Simple question, deserves a simple answer: if you were a polish, during 1939 german invasion... would you go to vacation to Berlin? Especially if you were an elected politician of Poland?

Go get him. Ask the Marines at Camp Pendleton to go get him. Just a few, maybe 5000 with air support should just go get him.

Declare war on Mexico and close the border with force.

Article comment by: She's Not the Best And Brightest to Represent Us

In an age when everything an elected official does reflects on them, you'd think Kelli would have thought that supporting Mexico with her big vacation dollars wasn't the best thing. She would have been smarter to Explore Arizona. No it isn't earth shaking but it does make one wonder how this woman thinks.

The pledge - well maybe she just doesn't believe she should pledge her allegiance to America.

Her performance as our representative hasn't been a great one. And depending who runs against her the choice next election day depends on if I vote against her or choose not to vote in that category.

Desert Rainbow, well said.
She did not go at the tax payers expense. She has a private life and the right to "pursuit of happiness" in her vacation! Luca, Al she has the right as an individual to vacation where she pleases and you have the right to disagree, but not to judge. Al, if you intend to be successful in your candidacy, you need to learn to be more tactful in your comments and judgements. You do not appear to make good judgement calls.

“…our Arizona State Sen. Kelli Ward is having a great time in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.”

Of course she is. If there is any individual in the state legislature who is more out off touch than Kelli Ward I have no idea whom it might be. Her record of really stupid bill proposals, combined with her support for the racist crook Cliven Bundy in Nevada and her wasting tax dollars on the “Do you think we’re nuts” (BTW –yes) “Chemtrail” meeting in Kingman point out that – once again – Mohave County elected a loser – excuse me, another loser!

”All I know is that it is shameful to support a country with U.S. dollars that is detaining an American Marine in miserable conditions…”

In case you are not aware of the facts – and are simply regurgitating the goofy hyperbole of the right wing – the Marine broke the law. It’s as simple as that. If Mexican prison conditions are miserable, then perhaps we should try to force Mexico to make improvements. However, the Marine broke the law by entering the country with illegal weapons and ammunition and Mexico has a “zero tolerance” policy for such acts. Does it suck, you bet it does, but those are their laws and we have no business interfering.

Good point Joker.
The same people are screaming for the marine to be released are the same people screaming for the death penalty Mexicans coming into this country with guns. I guess these people feel that foreigners need to obey our laws in this country but if an American goes to a foreign country that we don’t need to respect their laws. Guess what Gun Nuts, the Second Amendment only covers you within the borders of this country, go to Mexico and your so-called God given Second Amendment right, doesn’t mean jack.

Oh and for those who are complaining about Obama taking vacations, I guess you forgot how Bush would spend the WHOLE MONTH OF AUGUST at his Texas ranch. It’s funny how Republicans forget a little thing called FACTS!.

Article comment by: un appel aux armes .....

225 years ago today, the French peasantry stormed the Bastille prison. People generally believe this was to free Louis XVI's prisoners there, but they were after the gunpowder stored there, after having seized the army's weapons at the Veterans Hospital on the other side of Paris. All this was prompted by news that the King had despatched his army to crush rising disaffection due to hunger. It's true that even George Washington was distressed later as events in France deteriorated....but maybe our own citizenry could more responsibly handle an armed insurrection against the criminal Obama Administration. With each passing month, they are bringing on line more devious and effective counter-insurgence technology, so the time is now. I'm going down to the local McDonalds to take heart at the state of our readiness.

I see no connection with the Ward's vacationing in Cabo and Andrew Tahmooressi. They are not there as "guests" of the Mexican government. They are at a popular resort area. And, I might add, NOT on the taxpayer dollar. I am certain they care as much as other about Andrew Tahmooressi, but so far, no one has been successful in getting him released. Not for a minute do I believe that Senator Ward or her husband would not move heaven and earth if they thought they could assist.

Mr. Zanna:

While I appreciate your point, Kelli Ward may have had this planned for awhile ahead of the Marine incident.

Of course, if we were to stop going to Mexico for every terrible thing they have done to us, noone would go. And gee, that sounds like a great plan also.

But of course, the real problem is that President obama has not spoken up at all. One phone call and Tahmooressi would be free.

It's illegal to take guns into Mexico. It's their law, so they enforce it. The U.S. Marine broke Mexican law, so he has to pay the price. If a Mexican was caught taking guns into this country, he would be punished and if we let him go early, some Americans would scream to no end.

So Gianluca Zanna wants to "CONTROL" what other people do in their private lives, with the dollars THEY EARNED?? IF his rationale is she's an "Elected" person and has to answer to the people who elected her, I have two questions:

1. Does she answer to ALL the people or just him? It seems that he expects any elected official to get HIS "permission" before doing anything he finds offensive.

2. Luca is a "Public figure" by Virtue of his Activism. So does he have any expectation of privacy but OTHER public figures don't?

I ask this last question because I was at his home for what I thought was a Chemtrails meeting. It wasn't but I wanted to video the presentation before I found out it wasn't, and Luca asked me to stop the video, and I respected his right of privacy.

IS Kelli Ward any LESS deserving of "privacy" than Luca?

Yes not a good idea to keep going on vacations like Obama, especially with this mani in prison and the invasion. "The air is safe to breathe." That's what they told the NY 911 firefighters and now Kelli Ward tells us the same. How is that possible if people are testing positive with high levels of Barium, Aluminum and Strontium and the same is in our rain? Where is the investigation? She is a doctor right? Dog and pony shows don't get it done and we don't time for to wait.
