For the fourth year, the annual "Give Kids a Smile" program provided free dental hygiene services for children in Mohave County. The program, offered by the Mohave Community College dental programs, dental hygiene and dental assisting students, along with volunteer dentists, provided dental cleaning, fluoride varnish, limited exams and oral hygiene instructions to 69 kids ages 3-15. They also provided tobacco counseling to teenagers. MCC dental program director Tracy Gift reported that the total value in free services for the children was $25,780 - the largest economic impact for Mohave County families since the program began in 2006.

Adults need dental help Dentures needed
I think it is wonderful to provide dental services for children.Unfortunately I grew up without dental services being readily available and have spent many years suffering for that.I have had my teeth those I have left rebuilt and root canaled and cleaned and rebuilt as everyone should have a great smile well I still don't and would like dentures or implants only my budget is severely tight and I cannot afford the necessities I have sought reduced or free services without luck if you know of programs I would love to hear about them. I hope people realize the prejudices placed on how your teeth look people relate it with drug use and bad hygeine and poor nutrition, when truly it could be because you just have done all you can afford to do and have much more prevailing duties for your dollars such as a roof over your children's heads and electricity for them and food for their tummies those things have to come first. Please realize not all can afford a beautiful smile and could really use help to get one.Thank You!
