Mohave County recently inspected the following establishments:

Desert Diamond: 4875 Olympic Drive; EXCELLENT; distillery tasting room; Aug. 29.

Kingman Airport Café: 6000 Flightline Drive; EXCELLENT; Aug. 29.

Pizza Hut: 2911 Stockton Hill Road; EXCELLENT; Aug. 29.

Caroline's Country Café: 3244 Aztec Road, Golden Valley; SATISFACTORY; soup in urn below proper temperature, pie case not holding proper temperature, keep butter on ice until needed, hot water to hand washing sink not working - corrected and a plumber has been called to fix the leak; do not use or accept dented cans; numerous flies - restaurant does have pest control company; Sept. 5.

Subway: 5373 Highway 68, Golden Valley; EXCELLENT; Sept. 5.

White Cliffs Middle School: 3550 Prospector Street; EXCELLENT; Sept. 6.

Desert Willow Elementary School: 3700 Prospector Street; EXCELLENT; Sept. 6.

Castlerock Bar & Grill: 3743 U.S. 93, Golden Valley; complaint about numerous flies valid, pest control contacted and will put in more fly traps, will return on Sept. 13 to check; Sept. 6.

Super Buffet: 1851 E. Kino Ave.; UNACCEPTABLE; no hot water at hand washing sink; piles of dirty dishes left over from Saturday - restaurant closed on Sunday and inspected on Monday; dirty water left in mop and sanitizer buckets; buckets and bowls of food found on floor in walk-in cooler; unidentified bags of meat in walk-in cooler - employee indicated it was for his personal use; majority of food in walk-in cooler and reach-in cooler was not covered; trays of eggs with broken shells stored next to unbroken eggs; containers of raw meat stored on top of containers of raw vegetables; facility infested with live roaches - owner presented receipt for pest control performed on Sept. 7; all left over food must be covered and dated - food that was dated was past the seven day expiration date; manager does have food safety manager card; replace burned out bulb in walk-in freezer; significant amount of water on floors of both restrooms; water damage to the drywall in the women's restroom; gaps around outside doors must be sealed to prevent pests from entering; water in steam tables must be emptied on a nightly basis; all food in coolers to be discarded; restaurant closed until further notice; Sept. 9.

WACOG - main kitchen: 150 Spruce; EXCELLENT; Sept. 11.

Kingman Kettle Corn: 4384 E. Indian Pony Drive; mobile food unit - EXCELLENT; Sept. 12.

Redneck's Southern Pit BBQ: 420 E. Beale St.; EXCELLENT; Sept. 12.

Subzero Catering: 4358 Able; EXCELLENT; Sept. 12.

Quality Shaved Ice: 2470 E. Calle Chavez; mobile food unit - EXCELLENT; Sept. 12.

We appreciate these reports and use them to choose restaurants carefully. Thanks for shutting the Buffet down- whether it is through ignorance or defiance they have had more than their fair share of chances to improve- and, apparently, were not interested in doing so.
