The Bureau of Land Management held a Wild Horse and Burro Adoption event at the Mohave County Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday.

Randy Helm of the BLM held clinics Saturday showing how to work with a newly adopted horse or burro. Here, he works with a blue roan mare that had just been adopted.

I think BLM needs to change the way they adopt these horses. When I adopted my first mustang he was about 2 and they let me load him in a 2 horse trailer now they won't! They also were willing to transport if you adopted 1 or more now they don't even do that. Also this used to be a yearly event now its every 2 years or longer even though they just built corrals out there on Shinarump which have been vacant forever! I went there this weekend and wanted to get a yearling which looked less than a year to me it even states that less than a year you can load in a 2 horse trailer but they wouldn't allow that which was a bunch of crap!! So now if you want to adopt you must have a stock trailer which not every horse person has or find someone to haul it which is ridiculous!! Those BLM guys did nothing but stand around and waste taxpayer money they had stock trailers there but they couldn't get off there lazy a@@'s to offer a helping hand!!
