Ruthie is a female Labrador Retriever trained to detect approximately 19,000 explosive odor combinations. She lives in Las Vegas but travels nationwide. Joseph Phelps, 12, smiles as he pets Ruthie.

The 10th Annual Kingman Area Books Are Magic festival was held last Saturday at Metcalfe Park. Several book authors, musicians, entertainers and others were on hand for the celebration of books and music.
