Tools for trouble

On March 7, Kingman Police arrested Ruben A. Galvan, 37, of Kingman on felony charges of domestic violence by aggravated assault and domestic violence by criminal damage, along with a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence by disorderly conduct. Officers responded to a disturbance call at a home in the 1900 block of Chambers Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. According to KPD spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki, Galvan did not harm his fiancée or two small children who were in the home at the time, but he allegedly used a knife, hammer and baseball bat to damage or destroy about $1,300 worth of property.



Fugitive

On March 7, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Gregory Allen McCoy, 49, of Golden Valley on a fugitive from justice felony warrant issued by authorities in Weaverville, Calif., on an original charge of possession of stolen property. Deputies responded to the 3200 block of Aztec Drive regarding a wanted person at about 1:45 p.m. and took McCoy into custody.



Upgrade to felony

On March 7, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Gregory Wayne Rodgers, 26, of Kingman on a felony charge of third-degree escape and for misdemeanor warrants, one issued by Kingman Municipal Court for probation violation and one for driving on a suspended driver's license issued by Kingman Justice Court. Deputies stopped Rodgers in the 3100 block of Northern Avenue at about 9:10 p.m. for reasons that were unspecified. A records check revealed the warrants and deputies asked Rodgers to exit his vehicle. He allegedly ran until he fell in a parking lot and was taken into custody without further incident.



Odd DUI

On March 8, Kingman Police officers arrested Daniel R. Young, 52, on a felony charge of aggravated DUI and misdemeanor charges of inhalation-vapor releasing substance and reckless driving. Officers responded to a call of a reckless driver in the area of Airway Avenue and Miller Street at about 6:35 p.m. and stopped Young about 15 minutes later in the 3100 block of Kino Avenue. Young reportedly admitted to inhaling canned air duster while driving. He was charged with aggravated DUI after officers learned his driver's license was reportedly suspended. Young was taken into custody without incident. His vehicle was towed and is subject to a 30-day impound.



Loud, disorderly

On March 8, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Ryan Riggenbach, 41, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and a misdemeanor charge of consuming alcohol in public. Deputies responded to a call of suspicious activity in the area of Tracy Lane near College Drive at about 5:30 p.m. Riggenbach was allegedly being "loud and disorderly." Deputies took him into custody after they spotted him walking down the street "consuming an alcoholic beverage." A search allegedly revealed a black tar substance that was subsequently identified as marijuana resin.



Felony upgrade

On March 9, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Georgia Ann Sherman, 25, of Kingman on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, along with a misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay fines issued by Kingman Municipal Court. Deputies contacted Sherman at about 9:30 p.m. in the area of Roosevelt Street and Northfield Avenue regarding an unrelated incident. A records check revealed the warrant and a search revealed Sherman allegedly possessed two plastic bags containing a white crystal substance and a glass pipe with residue.



Minor assault

On March 13, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Hidie Bridget Wheeler, 40, of Kingman on a felony charge of aggravated assault on a minor and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Deputies responded to a home in the 2000 block of Butler Avenue regarding an assault report. The caller told them her neighbor assaulted the woman's 14-year-old daughter. The incident began after Wheeler's son and a friend hit the caller's home with a golf ball and she told them to stop. Wheeler allegedly showed up at her front door and began to yell. She then allegedly pushed and scratched the girl. A witness confirmed the girl's statement. Wheeler reportedly told deputies the girl "lunged" at her.



Two surrender

On March 13, Stonie Marie Elder, 36, of Kingman, surrendered to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office on a felony warrant for dangerous drugs and a misdemeanor warrant for failure to pay fines, both issued by Kingman Justice Court. That same day, Roxanna Lee Radley, 49, of Golden Valley surrendered to the MCSO on a felony warrant for trafficking in stolen property issued by Mohave County Superior Court.



Drugs

On March 14, Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Roy Don Quick, 56, and Sheryl R. Ewing, 41, both of Dolan Springs. Quick was charged with felony possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Ewing was arrested for felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies stopped Quick and Ewing at about 1:45 a.m. in the 3200 block of Lass Avenue. K9 Raidin was called in to sniff the vehicle and reportedly alerted his handler. A search allegedly revealed marijuana in a plastic bag, four syringes, one with a brown liquid substance, and a glass pipe with burnt white residue. Ewing was allegedly in possession of a pipe with residue. They were taken into custody without incident.
