With the arrival of cooler weather, the Kingman Bass Club has started to fish on the Colorado River.

The first tournament was held at Park Moabi, on the Colorado River near Needles, Calif.

The team of Shane Moline and Tina Kennedy put together a good stringer of largemouth and smallmouth bass to easily win the Kingman Bass Club's one day September fishing tournament

Moline said they caught their first fish of the day in the river, but then headed all the way down to Lake Havasu where they caught most of their fish.

"We probably caught 15 bass in the lake, and then we moved back up river and culled a 1.75 pound fish with a 2.75 pound fish," Moline said.

Moline said they caught their fish on jigs and crankbaits.

"Our best fish was caught on a crankbait in the lake," Said Moline.

Second place went to Donnie and Ray Scroggins, with a five fish limit that weighed 13.59 pounds.

Their bag did contain the largest fish of the tournament, a largemouth that weighed 4.11 pounds.

Third place was won by Marvin Carter and Lawrence Bryan, while fourth place was taken by the husband/wife team of Johnny and Faith Thomas.

The next tournament of the club's tournament trail is on Saturday out of Princess Cove on Lake Mohave.
