This is not to tarnish the hard work being done by the Boomers. Kudos to you. But more to put the spotlight on the city. I have never lived in a city where it did not fund it's yearly fireworks display. I mean, really? You lack that much economic planning and know how to figure this out? You have no money, yet give out free bus passes, make to attempt at requiring furlough days, etc. These folks could be putting their effort into more life-affecting things, like helping homeless children and families. But no, they have to go be beggars to keep fireworks going. I am sure a kid would rather eat for once than watch fireworks and go hungry

Although I'm a Coors Lite drinker, I appreciate Budweiser helping support the community.
