The Phoenix-based Human and Equal Rights Organizers (HERO) visited Kingman on July 25. Here, a pastoral team from Trinity Episcopal and Divine Savior churches welcomes them at the Kingman Parks and Recreation Department at Centennial Park. HERO is walking one mile for each year Arizona has not offered equal rights for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning Arizonans - a total of 101 miles - and bringing their message to the state's 15 county seats. At the time of their visit to Kingman, HERO had walked 91 miles, including 19 miles in Prescott the morning of their visit in honor of the 19 firefighters killed in the Yarnell fire. They planned to walk a half-mile in Kingman. The walk will finish in Phoenix.
