Organizations: Kingman Area School Retirees' Association

KASRA met Oct. 22 at Dora's Deli for a luncheon and program presented by Julie Gragg, KUSD No. 20 district music coordinator and band director. Julie used a PowerPoint presentation with many photos of the students' activities showing their pride, enjoyment and accomplishments while being part of the music program. Julie was accompanied by Anita Rossi, chairwoman of the Kingman Middle School Band Boosters, who contributes her time and effort to supporting and enhancing the band's many projects. Duane Nelson, KASRA's former membership chairman and legislative representative, was installed at the state convention held in June as president-elect of the state association, AASRA. He is the first person from the northern Arizona area to hold such a prestigious position! He told us about his recent adventures visiting various association units around the state as well as trips to San Antonio and to Washington D.C. Nelson and another state association officer met with Arizona Reps. Kyrsten Sinema and Paul Gosar. They also met with one of Sen. John McCain's staff members in order to promote the association's efforts to protect and improve benefits for all retired school personnel. Pictured from left are: Anita Rossi, Duane Nelson and Julie Gragg.
