"Gold" Quacktastic duck statues were awarded to several area DAR members for their service to our community and beyond. The presentation was held at the Daughters of the American Revolution's May business meeting and luncheon held at The Garlic Clove, formerly Dora's, on Beale Street. Quacktastic statues were presented to, from left: Grace Van Horn, Louise Miller, Maureen Hugunin, Heather Huntington, Kim Casey, Jayne Sieiroe, Toni Hupp, Joan Jordan and Marianne Huffer. Not pictured is Lucille Sunde. The "gold" awards recognize outstanding volunteer efforts using resources, time and energy for community, patriotic and veterans projects. In addition, pictured here are some of the dozens of bags of groceries, health and grooming items which members collected for distribution to Kingman's homeless vets and others. Any woman 18 years or older - regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background - who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership in this genealogical society.
