Reel Watchers: This is the End
Morgan R. Wilson
Kingman Resident

A group of famous Hollywood actors and friends attend the housewarming of one of their compatriots.

A wild party is in full affect when they arrive and continues throughout the evening. Suddenly, to the disbelief and horror of the partygoers, the apocalypse begins, raining death and destruction upon the hills of Hollywood and the party.

The friends must find a way to survive these dangerous and despairing times. The group must battle demons, looters and each other in a fight to survive the end of the world.

"This is the End" touts itself as a buddy comedy. This film is filled with over-done gags about bodily functions and perverted sexual jokes. But there is nothing funny or comedic about this film. Even the most die-hard Seth Rogan or James Franco fans will find it hard to stomach (or even like) this movie.

I am an avid movie buff. I grew up watching movies with my parents and now it is one of my and my friends' favorite pastimes.

That being said, I have walked out on only one movie. I should have brought that total up to two with This is the End. This film is terrible. It has no value whatsoever. This film is disgusting and lackluster at the same time; I wonder why so many good actors agreed to appear in it.

Out of all the movies available to see, don't make time for this one. I give "This is the End" one-half miner out of four.

Wow. The ad shows 6 guys punching each other, it's rated R, and the trailers show drinking, hitting, and things falling on people. This movie is living up to exactly what it's saying it is: juvenile, raunchy, and target-marketed at guys. Why are you so disappointed that it's everything it claims to be?
