The Patriot Guard Riders organized a large welcome home Saturday, March 14, 2009 for Army Specialist Lee Duay, returning from duty in Iraq. Eighty-eight motorcycles and ten vehicles met at MCC Saturday morning, then rode to Duay's home for a surprise visit (to Duay) and a short ceremony. The Riders consisted of several area groups, including the 66 Riders, Hog Chapter 1061, Kingman and Bullhead City Patriot Guards, Free Masons Riding Club, Leathernecks and more. Civilians and Duay's family were also involved. In addition, Kingman Police and Fire Department and Mohave County Sheriff's Office officers participated in both the ride and directing traffic for the procession afterwards to Mother Road Harley Davidson and Route 66 Motor Sports. Mother Road was hosting its annual customer appreciation day and provided a BBQ lunch in Duay's honor. There, Kingman Mayor John Salem (who also rode in the motorcycle procession earlier) presented a certificate of appreciation to Duay. For more information on the Patriot Guard Riders, call Richard at 928-279-6281.
