Reader Letter: Freedom! (Not apologies)

There will always be those who will test our constitutional rights and freedoms and those who will defend them.

Six weeks before the election, President Obama did not want to admit that another terrorist attack had occurred on his watch.

I can't forget the shout-out he gave to his political supporters just before commenting on the Fort Hood shootings that he labeled "an act of workplace violence."

This time he blamed a religiously offensive video for the deaths of four Americans - coincidentally on 9/11 - in Libya. Obama's first response to this tragedy, once again, was to apologize on behalf of America.

Mitt Romney's first response, without hesitation, was to defend our constitutional right to free speech.

The president, his administration and his lapdogs, the media, piled on Romney for what they claimed was a premature response to the situation, but was in fact a slow response from the president who, leading from behind again, and without commenting on the situation erupting in the Middle East, had gone to bed.

Since the beginning of our founding, many have sacrificed life and limb to protect the rights and freedoms that many of us take for granted thinking that they can't be taken away. Think again.

We must defend these rights for all of us - yes, even for those whose goal is to provoke others through their bigotry and ignorance.

I will support Mitt Romney, the presidential candidate who supports and defends America's constitutional rights, over the candidate who makes apologies for them.

I think the person who monitors, culls these posts ought to just admit they have a prejudice for the xenophobes who seem to have ability to not only get their posts posted 80% of the time compared to any dissenting views, not complaining since the beauty of the internet and electronic media this paper is one small cog in one huge machine! Pretty much the few xenophobic voices who seem to own this media outlet will have no one to argue with but themselves! If this election does not go the way they dream in their deepest xenophobic fantasy and their great white hope does worse than McCain and Palin did, do fear for their mental health and well being since they seem to be on verge of total mental break downs with all these birther conspiracies, terrorist cover up conspiracies in middle east on our embassies as if this stuff has not happened in past in relation to terrorism!

I have tried twice before to make this comment. Will they refuse to allow my opinion to be heard again? There are those that repeat horrible lies about the President. Their only proof is that they read it on the Internet. At the same time they claim to be "good Christians". Seem they forgot the commandment about bearing false witness. They spew hate and promote division. The Editor of this paper seems to promote this as well. How will you explain this to God when you stand before Him? How will you justify your hate and lies? I don't like everything the President has done. I didn't like everything Bush did. But God gave us the freedom of choice. The hate you have in your hearts might keep you warm now, but it will be your doom when you stand before God.

For the record:

Tomorrow night's VP debate will be moderated by Martha Raddatz who has Sesame Street connections and whose wedding to Julius Genachowski obama once attended.

Seems Genachowski and obama went to Harvard together and eventually obama appointed him head of the FCC.

With obama there are always and forever connections somehow. Genachowski was even an obama bundler. Genachowski and Raddatz have since divorced but when someone asked ABC about obama knowing the VP moderator, they have done all possible to cover it up - finally daintily leaking the story out so it makes as few waves as possible.

As you might guess, the moderator is a left winger. Imagine that?

My heart breaks for Pat Smith, Mother of Sean Smith who died in the Libyan embassy.

She was promised she would be told what happened, how he died, etc.

It is one month later and on AC 360 today, she told Anderson she has learned nothing so far. She went to a reception, cried on obama's shoulder and she said he just looked away.

Panetta took her face in his hands and said he would get back with her. He didn't. Hillary was too. She didn't either. All of them told her it was the fault of a video when they knew better.

She heard today he died of smoke inhalation. She doesn't know if that is true or if he was shot or what. She sees the pictures of bloody handprints on the outpost walls and wonders if they are his.

This was her only child. She told obama she had him 17 years and then the service got him. Stationed in Holland with wife and children, she saw little of him and he indicated his work could be dangerous. She didn't know he was in Libya for now.

And she told the president on his watch, he screwed up. Pat Smith needs our prayers. And the obama admin needs to tell her how her son died. They didn't provide adequate security and now they cannot even tell a parent what happened to her only child. That is actually despicable.

Wonder how obama would feel if it was Malia? Or Hillary if it was Chelsea?

Its wonderful Mitt Romney saw the evil truth about abortion and became a defender of the pre-born. I did the same many years ago. Ronald Reagan did the same. Many have done the same.

It is akin to becoming born again. As all of us who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior and become born again understand, we were once on the other side on that decision also. Most of us can remember the day we accepted Christ.

The sad truth is, barack obama, at sometime in his life has undoubtedly been presented the truth about accepting Christ and changing his mind about the unborn.

To date, he still consistently remains a pro-abort - one of the worst kinds. One who voted twice to not even allow the most defenseless of all, a newly born baby who just survived an abortion to even be given the most meager of Dr's services to perhaps then save the child's life or at the very least, let it be wrapped up and die lying in someone's arms rather than left naked, crying and alone in a dirty linen room. Demonic!! Add that to your list Tomchin.

Abortion is not a woman's right to choose. Abortion is straight from the pits of hell.

Any conservative on here could completely blow your post away.

You honestly think obama doesn't have wealthy donors? Want a list? Start w/Hollywood and work your way eastward to Wall Street.

Nearly every word out of obama's mouth is a lie. I just posted his lie to the New Orleans flood residents about a bill that would allow the federal gov't to give them a bigger helping hand. HE VOTED AGAINST IT. Didn't tell them that - let them think the other side voted against it. In fact, it had already gone thru w/Republicans votes.

He said to a down south audience he was conceived during the Selma march. Don't say I'm not part of this he told them. In fact, he was 4 years old during the Selma march.

This is not unusual, this is obama. He never STOPS lying.

Over and over in his own books, he lied. And yet you say Mitt is a pathological liar? No, but obama definitely is. A liar and a person who has hidden all his important documents to make sure his lies don't get out.

He even said his Mother died with no insurance covering her. In fact, insurance paid all her medical bills. Another lie. Said it whiole pushing obamacare.

You honestly have to feel sorry for poor Lil Ayn Ryan who is going to appear on stage in an ill-fitting suit with that ever confused expression on his face and attempt to defend the stupidest tax plan ever conceived by man.

And to make sure that no will expect Lil Ayn to perform well Willard the Money Hider has come out and made comments about Lil Ayn “possibly” having been involved in a debate in High School.

It is pathetic and painful to watch these two fools. Thank God they will not win and will be soon relegated to a tiny footnote history as the two dopes responsible for killing the Republican party.

Hearing comments:

Mr. Nordstrom, former Libyan Regional Officer/State Department had asked for more security. He was at that time told no but they increased his "danger" pay. He was told to not ask for more security.

Ambassador Kennedy, under Hillary, staunchly defended Susan Rice and everyone else who said it was the video - this days after others had already called it what it was, a terrorist attack on 9-11.

230 embassy and diplomat attacks in Libya just in the past year. Our admin was hell bent on switching to sub-par Libyan protection - repeatedly refused the Ambassador's requests for badly needed security.

Playing a game, Ambassador Kennedy did not turn over requested damaging documents, saying they were classified, then unclassified but clumped together and he would have to assess them first.

The consulate and Tripoli compound were NOT up to par.

Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, Former State Dept Site Security Team (SST) was available w/team to go back in. There was NO money problem sending his team back in. Still the answer was no. He testified the American consulate was the last flag standing, the only one left to hit. The Red Cross and others had been hit so hard, they had all left Libya.

Mrs. Lamb, the woman making the decisions was unimpressive to me, watched the attacks in real time in DC as did others, still was uncommitted to saying the word "terrorist".

We spent $110,000 putting green energy into the Vienna embassy, did not even have the Tripoly and Beghazi ones up to par enough to withstand attacks.

This administration is covering their butts and lying to do so. The Republicans and a few Dems were terrific in their questioning. They are intelligent and thorough and AZ Rep Govar did well.

Obama saved the auto industry, but for who? 7 out of 10 General Motors vehicles are made in China, and they are in the process of moving many departments from Detroit to China. China has no private industry, GM partnered with a Communist Government who helped pay their "Bail out gift" from Mr Obama. I suggest you research Detroit and the housing crisis because American jobs are gone.
You can't spend more than you make, personal household, or Government. Mr Obama's programs are great, but they belong in that mythical Walgreens world. Here we have to pay for them. As a retired welfare interviewer I can tell you 47% is low. People don't realize how many healthy people choose not to work because Socialists want to control them, and Liberals have no idea what is really going on in this Country. The purpose of higher education is to show you where to look for information, unfortunately they teach you to look in the places of their choice.

@Frank Lee Speaking.....I do respect what you just asked, because it's a well-founded question and stated politely. I cannot answer in 300 words or less, but can say a few things.....I wrote to various publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the Miami Herald, and the Kansas City Star - to journalists who, among the many I attempted to persuade, finally became persuaded of my experiences, and understanding of their exploitation through the government-film industry collusion.. I wrote about the crimes I personally witnessed by authorities in Las Vegas, for one thing. One of those who helped me was Bill Tammeus, Religion editor of the Kansas City Star. Dave Barry of the Herald responded numerous times. In early 2005, I wrote Laura Bush and received her White House response, forwarding a copy to Clark County Schools Superintendent Carlos Garcia, in response to their allowing cops to take small children (furnished with teddy bears!) to downtown courtrooms to role-play criminal trials. I was invited to address the entire school board on April 20th 2005. Some other "individuals" were there, too. I held my ground and discussed blatant law enforcement crime. At one point, I pushed my original letter from Laura Bush across the long table to the Assistant Superintendent. He frowned at me and pushed it back. Carlos Garcia resigned the following week. There's more to tell from that incident, let alone what has taken place over the years when a person, despite some significant personal challenges, responds to increasingly blatant, and all too often surreptitious, Government crime.

@David Gaither:

I am an Obama voter who is neither uninformed nor is waiting for a handout. And I love this country.

I do not want a president who dismisses nearly half of the population as moochers in order to impress his rich donors.

I do not want a president who changes his views and lies about his previously stated positions as often as most people change their underwear simply to try to win the office of the presidency.

Mitt Romney has impressed me as a pathological liar and I wouldn't trust him to watch my kids let alone be in charge of this country.

President Obama, on the other hand, has proven to me that he cares deeply not just about the 1% but about 100% of the people of this country. I will be proudly casting my ballot for him again on November 6th.

“Because of his actions over the last three and a half years, there can be no other excuse for your continued support!”

You’re right and I support each of the following actions and would like you to explain why they are bad for America and Americans?

More illegal immigrants captured and deported over the past 3.5 years than during the Reign of Error of The Criminal.

American auto industry on verge of collapse four years ago was saved. Hundreds of thousands of jobs saved.

Osama bin Laden killed.

95% of Americans paying a lower rate of taxes as compared to four years ago.

War in Iraq ended with troops now out of the country.

Ended DADT with no negative impact to the troops.

Tax credits for businesses that hire returning veterans.

Health care reform—no more refusal of coverage of preexisting conditions, children can stay on parent’s insurance until 26, closed prescription donut hole for seniors.

Financial industry and credit card industry reform which led to the formation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

And why do you feel that ensuring women receive equal pay for equal work is wrong? Health care for children is wrong? Regulations controlling the people who sent us into the economic morass are wrong? Enforcing fraud laws is wrong? Protecting Americans from the abuses of the credit card industry is wrong? Shutting down off-shore tax havens used by drug dealers and thieves is wrong? Providing criminal penalties for mortgage fraud is wrong? Adding additional loan programs for small businesses is wrong? Shutting off access to federal contracts by tax cheats is wrong? Cracking down on high seas piracy is wrong? Bringing about reforms in the student loan program is wrong?

Let me put this support for Obama as simply as I can...If you still support Obama, after three and a half years of his presidency, then
1) you are totally oblivious to political happenings, or
2) you are waiting for more Obama cash, or
3) you are just as antiAmerican as Obama.

Because of his actions over the last three and a half years, there can be no other excuse for your continued support!

And you know this how?

”Dems then said there was no security because the House cut funding for security there. Turns out that was a lie also. The bill they referred to passed with more Dems voting for it then Republicans. Again they lied.”

Nope, wrong information again

”Each one then tried to blame Issa and the right for politicizing the hearings before they have even started.”

Issa is known for his abject hatred of Obama and Democrats. He does nothing that is not politically motivated.

“And Mr. Cummings, it is pronounced with, not wiff. If you can't even speak English, perhaps you should go back to school before running next time.”

Since you have opened that door – it is spelled “NO ONE” not noone.

“If you liberals wonder why us Conservatives get so upset with the left, this is a classic example. Lie, skew facts or leave them out completely.”

Mentioning lies, you asked for a list of Willard the Money Hider’s lies and said you would respond. I did so and am still waiting. When can we expect your response?

I am watching the Oversight hearings on the Libyan terrorist attack on C-Span that left those four dead.

I must say, how it is starting is despicable. As each panel member gave their opening remarks, Senator Chavitz, Eleanor Norton Holmes, Cummings, etc - those on the left immediately politicized the hearing.

They started by saying those on the right went to Libya this week, left them out. It turned out that was untrue. Each, at the last minute, was invited to go and each Republican that wanted to go dropped everything and did so.

No Dems went by their own choice. They then said they were not invited. They were. They lied.

Dems then said there was no security because the House cut funding for security there. Turns out that was a lie also. The bill they referred to passed with more Dems voting for it then Republicans. Again they lied.

I don't know why the Miner reprinted an old letter here, but on the count of keeping up a lively discussion about our rights to free speech, the need is clearly still pressing. During Labour Day weekend 2009, I was watching TV coverage of the WTO meeting in Pittsburgh (from my home in Kingman), as protesters were bundled into unmarked cars which were being driven by uniformed military personnel, and driven off to destinations and fates which have never been publicised. That was the final straw in a long list of experiences, observations, and readings/viewings which resulted in my exercising the right to free speech which got me arrested. Following this, I bore a whole new slew of police and judicial crimes in Kingman. It's one hell of an experience to have a judge say, "Do you understand your rights?" when, in fact, if I had any rights, I wouldn't have been standing there in the first place! And if there will be any subsequent cases/apperarances in my life, the next judge will have no record of the whole litany of surreptitious crimes which were committed by police and their criminal cohorts against me in Kingman, and elsewhere. All of you are being affected by the same phenomenon - your Federal Reserve Chairman was asked by a leading U.S. senator if he intended to divulge the whereabouts of a missing $9 trillion. Mr. Bernanke did not even answer "No, sir" or "No, senator" - he just answered "No." Period. If missing trillions and slaughtered generations in wars-based-upon-packs-of-lies and requisite domestic crime waves by your law enforcement heroes doesn't motivate you, you always have individual stories like my own. But back to your utterly worthless, crass partisan bickering.

Willard the Money Hider flipped/flopped on his stance regarding a woman’s right to choose. “There’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda,” Willard said told the Des Moines Register.

Realizing their candidate is an idiot, his handlers immediately walked back Willard’s statement by saying Willard, “Would of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life."

Willard has a long history of being pro-choice. In 1994 in a debate with Senator Ted Kennedy, Willard said, “I believe abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years we should sustain and support it, and I sustain and support that law, and the right of a woman to make that choice, and my personal beliefs, like the personal beliefs of other people, should not be brought into a political campaign.”

During the 2002 governors race Willard’s handlers said, “As Governor, Mitt Romney would protect the current pro-choice status quo in Massachusetts. No law would change."

In 2005 Willard flipped telling the Boston Globe, “"I am pro-life. I believe that abortion is the wrong choice except in cases of incest, rape, and to save the life of the mother.”

Another flip in 2007 in South Carolina where Willard said, “Roe v. Wade has gone to such an extent that we've cheapened the value of human life," followed by, “The people should make [the abortion] decision, not the court.”

Of course Willard’s position is moot because the intellectually challenged have been hoodwinked by Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 who “promised” if elected they would overturn Roe vs Wade and once in office they did nothing. And Willard the Money Hider will not alter that tradition.

”I will support Mitt Romney, the presidential candidate who supports and defends America's constitutional rights …”

Lip service to the Constitution does not alter the fact that Willard the Money Hider is the anti-American candidate ever offered up by any political party. How any American can support a sleaze who made a fortune (and hid it off-shore) by bankrupting American companies, putting American workers out on the street, stealing pensions from American workers and taking away the health care of American families while sending those American jobs to COMMUNIST CHINA where he had invested in CHINESE COMMUNIST sweatshops and CHINESE COMMUNIST companies that stole the intellectual property of Americans.

Willard the Money Hider – bad for America and bad for Americans.
