Letter: Constitution Party: Do not comply

The Constitution Party of Arizona urges people to resist gun registration or turn-in.

The Constitution Party of Arizona supports the individual's right to keep and bear arms as defined by the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. We do hereby call on our fellow citizens of Arizona to also show their support for the Constitution and the Second Amendment by resisting any infringement of their right to keep and bear arms, and to never register or turn in any of their firearms regardless of any pressure by any governmental entity to do so.

We, the people, have a right to keep and bear arms and we, the people, shall never surrender our rights.

Bob Haran, chairman

Constitution Party of Arizona

“Why don't you mention we should take care of global warming and more rights for GLBT people first while you're at it.”

Perhaps because, unlike Republican fools, I feel putting Americans to work and cutting tax loopholes foe the rich are more important. And why don’t you post something of actual substance for a change?

There is gun registration and gun bans all over the country. There are states trying to pass guns bans right now. Yes the government is trying to take the guns away from the honest people. Will they succeed? Not with out a civil war. Will the government wait another generation before they take all the guns, it would be easier. I think they want them now.
No party or government can create jobs, that is done by the people. The government can kill jobs by imposing to many regulations and taxes, which is what is happening right now.Why the company I retired from sent all the aircraft work to China, to get out from under all the fees and regulations.

Bob Hana is right. Gun registration is the first step of gun confiscation. History does repeat it’s self and the Germans that were herded into the cattle cars had no weapons to defend themselves. Seriously, do you think it can’t happen here? Do you think you should get in the cattle car?

Constitution Party? Is this another name change for the republicans like the Tea Party? I mean tea party merely converts to teapublican guess we can call this new one constitutionpublicans, seems like the right wingers have a identity crisis cannot figure out who they really are! Since no gun registration law is enforceable, even on the agenda of anyone, and the national registration idea is to far fetched to imagine, and the national background check is not even popular except in some speical interest groups fantasies, do not see anything for the secessionists/birthers to get their panties all in a wad about!

There is, of course, an entirely different side to this story which contrasts with the sentiments so far expressed by posters here. This would emphasize all the illegal, and even criminal, actions of this Government against U.S. citizens, and peoples around the world --- the murder-soaked Federal Reserve loans out its Monopoly money at 3%, so that as a nation, we can never truly get out of debt. There's the never-ratified Federal Income Tax, the NSA's historic thievery of our privacy rights, "law enforcement" suppression of dissent.....and much else. Did I say much else? Which country shall we start with - maybe Guatemala, where our CIA-sanctioned thug slaughtered around 600,000 helpless peasants? Two generations of Iraqi children were irradiated and slaughtered (Madeleine Albright's commentary - "Yes, I think it was worth it" - referring to the successful effort at preserving the Fed's Monopoly money against Saddam Hussein's effort to replace it). Whether we're talking about the Government irradiating and sexually assaulting you when traveling (based upon "terrorist" attacks soaked in preposterous lies), or incrementally moving upon your gun ownership rights, you are on hallowed ground when defying tyranny.

@ Growing Terrorists

Read the second amendment again.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

As you can see, the right to bear arms is not well regulated.

The amendment states, "a well regulated MILITIA, being necessary to the security of a free state".

The right to bear arms is not to be infringed.

I see that all the grovelers and govt syncophants are quick to jump on this one.

Tough luck guys, people are beginning to say they will not comply. Better build more prisons.

Since there are no laws or proposals for any laws compelling people to register their guns or turn them in, then there is nothing to comply with.

People around here are weird when it comes to guns.

"The Constitution Party of Arizona urges people to resist gun registration or turn-in."

Since neither has been proposed by anyone it is a moot and stupid point.

Why doesn’t the “Constitution Party” concern themselves with getting jobs for Americans and closing tax loopholes?

The Constitution mentions this right will also be "WELL REGULATED".

And I am appalled the this newspaper would run a letter to the editor that is calling for people to break the laws. Are there no ethics anymore?

That's wrong

I absolutely disagree with you but commend you on finding a peaceful way to demonstrate using non-compliance, a traditional tactic of the left that works very well. Good luck!
