Letter: That was a good laugh

The Daily Miner opinion page gave me a laugh for the rest of the day when I read Lori Gabriel-Dane's piece about learning not to hate [Feb. 26, "Learn not to hate"].

Not so very long ago, around the re-election campaign of this president, she was spewing about her hatred and disdain for the Republicans and Tea party patriots. Let me see if I can remember just a few of her remarks: They HATE this president because he is black (this was the far left's main complaint); the Republicans are mean; they are all old, white, rich people; they hate undocumented people, left-speak for illegal aliens; and the list goes on.

But yet she implies that all the wrongs in the world are perpetrated by anyone who does not believe like she and the far left do. Here is a newsflash for you, Lori - most people are very decent and are willing to lend a hand if you need it, but first you have to not put them into your contrived categories and treat them like people, not a particular party affiliate. Most of the wars we fought were to keep our freedoms that we all so enjoy or to assist other countries in freeing them from oppressive dictators. These are wars that are worth fighting.

“Still want to claim these criminal illegals are no threat to public safety?”

You are the one who has consistently said drunk drivers should not be punished, so using DUI as an example is a little weak on your side of the discussion. Plus “CNS News Service,” really?

However if an individual has a record of DUI is released on a crime not related to DUI what does the previous DUI have to do with anything? Look at The Criminal for example, a drunk with multiple convictions who, if tried for his war crimes, will not face any consequences to his previous drunk driving convictions because those acts have nothing to do with his being a war criminal.

So as much as it will bother you I will have to come down on the side of any individual who – having once had a DUI conviction –was being held and then released on a charge not involving DUI is not a danger to the public.

Oh, almost forgot - LOL

Oh look, AN. Even more evidence that the administration is releasing convicted criminals.

****************
"(CNSNews.com) – The director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement told members at a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday that some of the 2,228 incarcerated illegal aliens who were released in recent weeks included many who have been convicted of drunk driving.

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) grilled John Morton during a hearing on the releases, which Morton blamed on the federal budget cuts required by the Budget Control Act of 2011.

Gowdy asked if Level 2, or illegal aliens convicted of multiple misdemeanors or certain kinds of felonies, that were released included those who had committed Driving Under the Influence or DUI offenses.

“Did you release any recidivist drunk drivers?” Gowdy said.

“Yes,” Morton said."

“Thanks for the good info. New York Daily News has just reported that Napolitano's Homeland Security has been letting 1000 illegals out each week since Febuary 15, 2013 without telling the public.”

First the New York Daily News is just another skuzzy tabloid owned by Rupert Murdoch and is the print equivalent to FAUX News. Is there any legitimate news source you actually read?

And why should the public be told about the release of anyone? Thousands of people are released from prisons all across this nation week in and week out and there is no publicity.

Oh, BTW, the Daily News story is incorrect, as usual.

3000 more are due to be released thru March. It has been kept under wraps and they have released as many as they can as fast as possible before it got out to the general public who might be against it. MIGHT BE???

We were told a couple of hundred were let loose. That is an out and out damned lie but will they be held accountable for their lying? But of course not.

The really disturbing thing - most were illegals that were simply going to be deported. Instead of going ahead and deporting them, they dumped them out in OUR country. Without jobs, some will undoubtedly be burglariizng homes, etc.

Some countries take being there illegally very seriously and you do some serious time for it. Let's see, am trying to remember....oh yes, it came back to me. It is MEXICO THAT TAKES IT SERIOUSLY. Go there illegally and you won't see the light of day for a very long time. Mexicans coming here illegally. Eh, not so much.

How pleasant to see that you understand that.

So when it comes right down to it you are not in favor of anything that will actually cut government spending. And of course your Governor continues to line her pockets from insuring there are thousands of “illegals” incarcerated.

Oh, yeah - LOL

It gets better:

And what's a "Level 1 Offender?

"Level 1 offenders can include illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes including homicide, drug trafficking, “aggravated felonies” and threats to national security.

One has to wonder where the outrage is over the incredible lies obama tells.

For instance, reported by Bruce Thornton and the Congressional Research Service, just last month o said "I'm proud of the fact that under my admin oil production is higher than it has been in a decade or more".

This is the same lie made while running against Romney, who pointed the lie out and was ignored. Obama retorted, "what you're saying is just not true". It was true of course, as REAL facts prove.

TRUTH: Obama shamelessly tried to take credit for the 1.1 million barrels per day increase since 2007 that happened, not because of but in spite of his policies.

The Congressional Research Service states "all of the increased oil production from 2007 to 2012 took place on NON-FEDERAL lands"

On federal land, production fell more than 23% between 2010 and 2012. The feds share of oil production fell from 31% in fiscal 2008 to 26% in fiscal 2012.

The feds share of natural gas production went from 27.8% in 2007 to 15.5% today. There is no mystery why. O's BP moratorium, the snail's-pace permits are awarded on federal land. (41% increased process time under O) has held back production as obama pays back his environmentalist buddies like the Sierra Club.

What o has done is as despicable as the MSM not reporting it.

Then there is Benghazi caused by the o admin that would have brought anyone else down. With MSM help, not a thing has been done. When Hillary screamed out at her hearing about some people wandering the streets, decided to kill some Americans, what does it even matter now, she should have immediately been drummed out - instead the MSM's hailed her bravery instead of ineptness.

“Just fine - caused by Republicans and their sequestration, right?”

Yes, the Republicans have forced this issue and the only way around the mess the Republicans created is to cut, cut, cut and when those cuts happen there you are – screaming about them. Can’t have it both ways. How you going to feel when your highly expensive to the taxpayer Medicare is cut or your Social Security check doesn’t show up? Remember – you wanted this.

“But wait, sequestration WAS o's idea. Now we have illegal criminals running around.”

BUT WAIT! No it wasn’t the president’s idea – and no matter how many times you say it (just like your birther nonsense) it will never be true.

”I show you proof there were WMD's …”

AGAIN it is WMD! And no, you did no such thing. You cut and pasted ten year old garbage that has been disproved.

“… you reference the date as if that makes it null and void????”

Yes, because it does. Your rationale would be that a person convicted and jailed in 2003 that was proven by DNA evidence in 2008 that he was innocent should still be inn jail because he was convicted. See how really stupid that sounds?

“They found these AFTER entering Iraq, proving they were there and Bush's information obviously was correct.”

Nope, they did not and The Criminal lied. The WHOLE world knows that.

”You would probably die before ever admitting you were wrong. Or that obama was wrong.”

As with some of the other usual suspects here you state something that is incorrect. You do not know me, you have never met me and yet you make such a blatantly untrue (as usual) statement. I have taken the president to task on more than one occasion when I disagree with his actions.

You are indeed fortunate to have an editorial staff that, for some inexplicable reason, will allow your nonsense to be posted – even though your “facts” have been debunked, some for over four years. As a former editor I would have shut you down a long time ago for posting utter nonsense and blatant untruths.

Timmerman is just spewing the usual garbage with no basis in fact, writing (a decade ago) for the Right Wing Insight Magazine owned by the Unification Church (The Moonies) and the ultra-right wing Washington Times. Insight Magazine folded in 2004 but continued with an on-line presence that spewed forth much of the anti-Obama nonsense that appeared during the 2008 election.

Timmerman is also the director of the pro-Iranian group Foundation for Democracy in Iran.

Fifty five gallon drums and even larger of pesticides in bunkers six feet under were found in numerous places in Iraq. Tons of it. While reporters chose to ignore reporting it, pesticides are the "start" for poison gas, etc.

They had plants, passing them off as pesticides by residents such as for farmers but in fact, were nowhere near where farmers would get to them and in huge amounts no citizen would need.

In one particular place, after we went in, a dozen US soldiers got very ill from poison gas they found along with two Iraq POW's they had with them.

The point is, while not weaponized yet, the pesticides were in bunkers everywhere, ready to go in many places in Iraq.

We know now a lot of WMD's were sent to Syria for Iraq when the war started.

That would be JANUARY OF 2004! Nearly a decade ago.

”But when he detailed what the ISG had found in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence last October, FEW TOOK NOTICE..”

You mean this part of his testimony from 2003 (nearly a decade ago), “It is far too early to reach any definitive conclusions and, in some areas, we may never reach that goal. … We have not yet found stocks of weapons,… We are actively engaged in searching for such weapons based on information being supplied to us by Iraqis.

Ultimately it was proven there were no WMD stockpiled in Iraq. It’s as simple as that and dragging up ten year old information that proved be in inaccurate will not change the truth.

Kenneth Timmerman, Sr Writer for Insight -

IMPORTANT - Stockpiles have been found.

So says former Operations Officer. Coalition Provisional Authoritys Iraq intel unit, US Army Cav Recon officer Doug Hanson - 20 yr vet, Gulf War I, Atomic demolitions munitions security officer-nuclear/biological chemical defense officer.

As civilian analyst, finding nonlethal employ for Iraq WMD scientists, he verifies findings to Insight and American Thinker. Journalists ignored his findings which contradicted their line and they thought finds were undramatic since much was pesticides.

But “Pesticides are the key elements in the chemical-agent arena organophosphate (general pesticide) is grandfather of modern day nerve agents."

The UN knew Saddam had chem weapons plants disguised under permitted civilian chem industry infrastructure - producing pesticides and chlorine (which is used for making mustard gas)

Our forces in Iraq found huge warehouses of "agriculture" chemicals - Army/marine specs painstakingly tested them. They don't look like stockpiles of chemical weapons but THAT IS PRECISELY WHAT THEY WERE. The start of chemical warfare.

US troops at Karbala found 55 gallon drums of pesticides in camouflaged bunkers 6 feet under ground. More than a dozen solders and two Iraqi POWS got symptoms of nerve agent exposure. Near Bai'ji, 4th Infantry division found 55 gallon drums of cyclosarin - a nerve agent. Nearby were surface to surface and surface to air missiles, gas masks, mobile labs.

At Taji, weapons complex as big as DC, even larger drums of pesticides were found, always stored in ammo dumps. Iraqis admitted making 3.9 Tons of VX, powerful nerve gas. Noone knows where it went since it could fit in a large garage. Find that in an area the size of the state of California.

Kay and Duelfer, under oath, reported this to Congress. THE MSM missed it apparently.

From Insight (Timmerman who those following this know is most credible, having even written books on it)

What the president’s critics and the media widely have portrayed as the most dramatic failure of the U.S. case against Saddam has been the claimed failure to find “stockpiles” of chemical and biological weapons.

But in a June 2003 Washington Post op-ed, former chief U.N. weapons inspector Rolf Ekeus called such criticism “a distortion and a trivialization of a major threat to international peace and security.”

The October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction concluded that Saddam “probably has stocked at least 100 metric tons [MT] and possibly as much as 500 MT of CW [chemical warfare] agents — much of it added in the last year.”

That assessment was based, in part, on conclusions contained in the final report from UN weapons inspectors in 1999, which highlighted discrepancies in what the Iraqis reported to the UN and the amount of precursor chemicals UN arms inspectors could document Iraq had imported but for which it no longer could account.

Until now, Bush’s critics say, no stockpiles of CW agents made with those precursors have been found. The snap conclusion they draw is that the administration “lied” to the American people to create a pretext for invading Iraq.

But what are “stockpiles” of CW agents supposed to look like? Was anyone seriously expecting Saddam to have left behind freshly painted warehouses packed with chemical munitions, all neatly laid out in serried rows, with labels written in English?

Or did they think that a captured Saddam would guide U.S. troops to smoking vats full of nerve gas in an abandoned factory? Next, stockpiles HAVE been found.

Iraq WMD findings:

“Plans and advanced design work for new long-range missiles with ranges up to at least 1,000 kilometers [621 miles] — well beyond the 150-kilometer-range limit [93 miles] imposed by the U.N. Missiles of a 1,000-kilometer range would have allowed Iraq to threaten targets throughout the Middle East, including Ankara [Turkey], Cairo [Egypt] and Abu Dhabi [United Arab Emirates].”
In addition, through interviews with Iraqi scientists, seized documents and other evidence, the ISG learned the Iraqi government had made “clandestine attempts between late 1999 and 2002 to obtain from North Korea technology related to 1,300-kilometer-range [807 miles] ballistic missiles — probably the No Dong — 300-kilometer-range [186 miles] antiship cruise missiles and other prohibited military equipment,” Kay reported.

In testimony before Congress on March 30, Duelfer, revealed the ISG had found evidence of a “crash program” to construct new plants capable of making chemical- and biological-warfare agents.

The ISG also found a previously undeclared program to build a “high-speed rail gun,” a device apparently designed for testing nuclear-weapons materials. That came in addition to 500 tons of natural uranium stockpiled at Iraq’s main declared nuclear site south of Baghdad, which International Atomic Energy Agency spokesman Mark Gwozdecky acknowledged to Insight had been intended for “a clandestine nuclear-weapons program.”

In taking apart Iraq’s clandestine procurement network, Duelfer said his investigators had discovered that “the primary source of illicit financing for this system was oil smuggling conducted through government-to-government protocols negotiated with neighboring countries [and] from kickback payments made on contracts set up through the U.N. oil-for-food program.”

When former weapons inspector Kay reported to Congress in January that the United States had found “no stockpiles” of forbidden weapons in Iraq, his conclusions made front-page news.

But when he detailed what the ISG (Iraq Survey Group under former State Dept's Duelfer)) had found in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence last October, FEW TOOK NOTICE..

Among Kay’s revelations, which officials tell Insight have been amplified in subsequent inspections in recent weeks:

A prison laboratory complex that may have been used for human testing of BW agents and “that Iraqi officials working to prepare the U.N. inspections were explicitly ordered not to declare to the U.N.” Why was Saddam interested in testing biological-warfare agents on humans if he didn’t have a biological-weapons program?

“Reference strains” of a wide variety of biological-weapons agents were found beneath the sink in the home of a prominent Iraqi BW scientist. “We thought it was a big deal,” a senior administration official said. “But it has been written off [by the press] as a sort of ‘starter set.’”

New research on BW-applicable agents, brucella and Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever, and continuing work on ricin and aflatoxin that were not declared to the United Nations.

A line of unmanned aerial vehicles, UAVs, or drones, “not fully declared at an undeclared production facility and an admission that they had tested one of their declared UAVs out to a range of 500 kilometers [311 miles], 350 kilometers [217 miles] beyond the permissible limit.”

“Continuing covert capability to manufacture fuel propellant useful only for prohibited Scud-variant missiles, a capability that was maintained at least until the end of 2001 and that cooperating Iraqi scientists have said they were told to conceal from the U.N.”
