Letter: I'll tell you what's really insane

Your privacy is about to be slammed against the political wall one more time. It's just a little cut on your rights, no big deal. You can take it for the kid's sake, right?

"Doctor," I said, "Lately I have not been able to sleep."

"Oh, you don't say," said the doc as he entered my information in the new National Background Check site for mental health, and he asked if I had any thoughts on suicide or killing people.

"What an odd thing to ask," I said.

He said, "Excuse me, but I have to make an important phone call."

A few minutes went by and two men entered with the doctor and started to put a funny wrap-around jacket on me as my family doctor explained that with the new law, he was mandated to call these mental issues in, and the judge wants me placed on a 30-day evaluation.

Is this just delusional thinking on my part?

I can see how easy it would become for mental illnesses to be reported by unqualified health workers as we inch our way toward Citizen Kane becoming a reality for background checks and gun control.

Not long ago, people would have said you're nuts if you suggested that the Senate and Congress need to pass a bill into law so they would have time to read it. Hello, Obamacare! And we still do not know what the cost is to America.

Insanity is passing into law things that sound good but are not proven, kind of like Obamacare.

Jack Shepherd

Mr. Sheperd, you are correct. The devil is in the details but the good news is with rationing is you'll just have to wait longer to see the doctor.

@A. nephew: No, I look forward to his resigning by 2015 in order to avoid impeachment.
Talk about insanity, look at the testimony in the senate by Max Baucus - a democrat-and the Ice Queen Sebelius.
This is never going to work.

Great letter Jack! Yes, complete insanity to pass bills noone has read. So crazy, everyone seems to ignore that fact. First clue to not passing it should have been it's so heavy, you risk a hernia carrying it. Dr. Betsy McCaughey knows. The only person I know who actually read it, she carries her 14" tall stack with her to every talk show she is on. And now she has 14,000 more pages of added regs to read.

And when you know those voting on it didn't read it, you know neither will us in the hinterland, those working for insurance companies, etc. .

So here we sit, waiting as each horror out of the bill comes to the fore.

The insanity of the coverage on medical equipment alone is enough to make you start drinking as you realize, the people writing that part had no clue about walkers and wheel chairs, etc. And people needing them will be hurt, ie the elderly again.

So now we know why Democrat Max Baucus testified before Kathleen Sebelius's HHS committee saying, although he helped write it, the bill cannot work and HHS has done nothing to try to reach out and help anyone understand it. That's because they don't understand it either Max. Who could?

A trainwreck waiting to happen was his description. Right on Max. And thanks for being one of four Dems that voted against the gun bill yesterday which undoubtedly sent obama to the prozac cupboard. You explained why in one word. MONTANA! Listening to your constituents. That's good. There may be hope from the left after all.

Obamacare and Common Core together will ensure if you blink wrong, the men in white coats will be knocking at your door.

Mr. Shepard, I don't think you are delusional.People are so blinded as to what is happening in our nation and in denial of BIG BROTHER watch over and taking over our lives.

My daughter is an RN and been since December 1999, she now works in an area of medicine in which she is required to wear what is a sociometric I.D. badge on a lathe around her neck. This device contains a computer with all her info. The badge itself is a white blank card in a plastic holder. Not only does it contain pertinent info her work I.D., it also measures her movements, how much she talks, her posture and how much she interacts with people around her.
We (I think All) have for years heard of the mark of the beast-where supposedly everyone would receive basically a tatoo of the 666# either on the forehead or hand etc..as was done to the Jews. No, that isn't necessary due the implementation of the chips thereby making it seem innocent and providing government an easy action without any outcry of opposition from the people.
My daughter did not provide me the info on this device! I happen to watch a program shortly after knowing she has this thing.
So, NO you are Not delusional.

Insanity is this country being held hostage to modest proposals by the terrorist organization called the NRA.

Jack, were you as excited about your privacy when GW Bush pushed the Patriot Act through?

Now, now Jack, try to muster up a small degree of fairness - you know the same thing your favorite tv station claims.

No, insanity is constantly ranting about something that is actually workiing.

Obama won - deal with it.
