Kingman letters: Right out of Alinsky's playbook

Mikel Weisser announced that he is running again. He did not state a platform, only that the conservatives have been destroying the country! That is right out of Saul Alinsky's playbook. Saul said, "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon!"

A few things that are not ridiculed are that Mr. Weisser is a teacher and a liberal. Liberals have taken over the education programs from K through graduate school, and since they have, the students are so dumbed-down they cannot spell, write or do math.

Forty years ago, Americans had the best education in the world. Now they do not even rank in the top 10 percent.

Speaking of destroying things, how about the liberals pushing killing babies through abortion, or loosening the country's morals through taking God, prayer and the Ten Commandments out of school? The country is middle right and does not accept the things the liberals support, but have had them shoved down their throats by legislating the changes from the bench.

The Constitution, which is one of the most erudite documents in the history of the world, is treated like it is a living document, which can be changed at any whim.

I served 20 years in the military to defend our country and the Constitution.

Who is destroying our country? Look in the mirror, Mr. Weisser!

“Why don't you just go along with those of us who believe in personal responsibility and freedoms and limited government?”

You mean government limited and not allowed to interfere in the free and personal medical decisions of women? Is that the limited government you are advocating – well, son of gun, welcome to the world of Liberalism.

@OKR

Your post pretty much proved Dean's entire statement. Your hatred and prejudice of anything you deem "liberal"...ie anybody or any idea that you do not agree with....speaks volumes.

Chuckles:

You're a one hit wonder, showing your shallowness by consistently thinking every person who is conservative gets all their news from Fox, Rush and Beck.

NEWSFLASH. A lot of conservatives WORK so they miss Rush and Beck both. And Fox news's night shows aren't the type that I can see that would be bringing up Alinsky Exactly WHO, for the tenth time, on Fox would be discussing Alinsky? They have guests that are there for a couple of minutes. In depth discussions? Hardly.

I have listened to Rush for about 25 years and have no recollection of him mentioning Alinsky. Beck may have but not to any degree I can recall.

Saul Alinsky? Have known about him and who he is for years. How do I know him?

Because I own 11 hard back books on Bill and Hillary Clinton, from when Bill ran for POTUS. You know, around the time Hillary had her team covering up for Bill's many sexual affairs, around the time Vince Foster suddenly turned up dead and it was known Hillary and friends had snuck into his office - the Rose Law Firm papers had disappeared, etc.

May I educate you. Hillary Clinton was a radical when in college and wrote her thesis on Saul Alinsky, a type of radical that shaped her early radicalism back in college. It is believed she saw in Clinton, things she admired in Alinsky and that's what drew her to him. She was raised Republican incidentally.

Some of us actually READ BOOKS ABOUT THE SUBJECT AT HAND. WELL DOCUMENTED BOOKS. I have five or six hardbacks on obama. How many do you have? I realize libs get their little talking points from Media Matter type sources which explains their ignorance on most topics.

“What really makes me chuckle is that none of you even knew who Saul Alinsky was until Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and Fox News spoon fed him to you.”

Excellent point. And actually reading Alinsky’s work shows he was much more than what the righties spoon feed the intellectually challenged.

Makes one chuckle when we saw how the teabaggers jumped on the Lil Ayn Ryan bandwagon and supported the guy who so loved the family hating, abortion favoring, lesbian, atheist that he demanded all members of his staff read the ponderous “Atlas Shrugged” that made it very clear Lil Ayn had no respect for the working man – only corporate masters.

And yet they still wonder why they lost!

@ Dean

Just because people do not agree with the politics of someone does not mean they are hate filled.
Your stance is that everyone should just go along with the socialistic politics of Wessler or we are haters.

Why don't you just go along with those of us who believe in personal responsibility and freedoms and limited government?

News flash, it is not just large corporations and the wealthy who want limited government. That is just the line from the libs and Main Street media that you are parroting.

It was the Constitutional freedoms that Americans enjoyed which made our country great. Until we get away from the liberal policies of the welfare state and government interference in all aspects of society, America will never recover from the down grade we have been experiencing over the past decade or so.
Politicians like Wessler want to perpetuate the liberal policies.

There is no hate involved here. I don't know Wessler personally. I do have an informed, reasoned opinion about his politics which I disagree with.

Is Mr. Weisser a US citizen allowed to run for office ? YES
What is this hate that has created such a divide in this country that being liberal minded or Democrat or GOP is such a bad thing ? Who is creating this division ? Is it the "Fear creators" who want to take away the American way of life and control things at a corporate level where there is no accountability or oversight. Do 400 of the richest families control every aspect of our lives?Do the New Billionaires control political parties and the agendas to make them more powerful ? Look carefully and you will see we are turning into our enemies that we hate so much. Weisser is brave enough to run for office... what about you ?

Mr. Hale,

First, thank you and all our veterans for your service to our country. I, too, have taken the oath to defend our constitution, and take it seriously.

Now, let's get down to brass tacks here - American education is lagging behind for 3 reasons:
1) It was designed to get us into a post-industrial world, and no farther.
2) It is expensive because it looks backwards, and suffers from lack of deserved funding because of politicians - not teachers.
3) Teaching your children should be a prestigious job. Don't forget that the media makes it cool to be stupid and being smart is nerdy.

Great, so what? Well the so what is that some people have figured it out. KAOL has a market-based solution and their kids are smart. They can type and read and multiply and divide, and it's because politics are removed from how they set their curricula.

Meanwhile you have people in Texas fighting to remove Thomas Jefferson from American history because they disagree with his religious viewpoints.

All the while other countries are developing themselves and making great strives. 40 years ago Finland and South Korea were bouncing back from war. Now we're the ones with competition and you want to blame the front line troops - the teachers?

I strongly disagree with that, sir. Unless you've stared down 30 8th graders and attempted to get them excited about biology, you have no clue how difficult a job it is. Who else doesn't understand the jobs? Those people funding them and those people voting, like yourself.

“Never heard that one before. You do have a link to back up that claim, right? Didn't think so. Nice use of the exclamation point(s) of liberal poutrage, by the way.”

Ahh, look, you’re wrong again. Here is just one of the many stories that you can check by simply doing a Google search for “Republicans Block New Hampshire Phone Lines.”

This one is from the Washington Post, 17 May 2006.

Charles McGee, executive director of the New Hampshire Republican Party, was mailed a Democratic flier that offered Election Day rides to the polls. A Marine Corps veteran, McGee approached the situation like a combat operation: "Eventually the idea coalesced into disrupting their phone lines . . . [it's] military common sense that if you can't communicate, you can't plan and organize."

When voting began Nov. 5, McGee's plan worked like a charm. For two crucial hours, an Idaho telecommunications firm, paid by the republicans, tied up Democratic and union phone lines, bringing their get-out-the-vote plans to a halt.

McGee and two other miscreants - Republican National Committee regional political director James Tobin and GOP consultant Allen Raymond were found guilty of criminally violating federal communications law.

Nice use of the sophomoric “LOL” by the way.

It's amazing the Republicans claim to hate "killing babies" yet they are the first ones "bomb, bomb, bomb". They love war. They love sending someone else's "baby" off to die.

Boy you got to love it when somebody who has a rant against someone makes an statement like "the students are so dumbed-down they cannot spell, write or do math" in a pathetic attempt to make a point.

I think it would be great to see the powers to be at KUSD and KAOL invite you to each of the schools in this community where there could be an assembly and you could state this to all of the students...would be interesting to see what type of a reception you would get don't you agree Mr. Hale?

Failing that I'd love to hear you tell my student daughter that she is "dumbed-down" and "cannot spell, write or do math" but I would forewarn you to be prepared to be suitably rebuked! If you'd like to give that a shot just let me know.

Just a couple of questions for you Mr. Hale if I may.

Do you know which school board has the greatest amount of influence in what is printed in this countrie's text books? I'll Give you a hint, they aren't Liberal.

Do you know many educators here and what their specific political leanings are? If you don't you may be surprised.

Right on Mr. Hale. Obama was raised on Alinsky.

So we fight on. Drink in the words of the Civil War Battle Hymn. Food for the soul, strength for the weary. We may well have to fight and die again.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.
He is is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
His truth is marching on."

"The Constitution was designed to be a living document that could be altered, through a lengthy process not a “whim,” by the American people."

Then why don't you and your gun grabbing cohorts just use that "lengthy process" to get the changes you wish rather than whining for reinterpretations of it?

You can use the lengthy process to get rid of the 2nd Amendment. But I doubt you or the rest of the local gun grabbers have enough years left to ever see such an effort succeed.

Must be hard to face reality as a right wing conservative that 22% national registered republicans is not a majority! I guess the harsh reality is losing one national presidential election right behind the next one since they had their run of success with Bush Jr who stole his first win with hanging chads with assistance from his brother the Governor of Florida, and then the second win had questions related to how votes were suppressed in Ohio, New Hampshire! Even had of their operatives arrested and sent to prison for jamming the phone lines at the New Hampshire democrat offices get out the vote! One can only steal and cheat so much to success and then bad karma comes! The conservative movement in America is living in a delusion of grandeur of a mythical majority which does not exist!

Bravo Tom!!

Couldn't have said it better myself! Alinsky was a protege of Al Capone who used his hatred of the rich and powerful as an excuse to commit the crimes he did. Alinsky also hated the bedrock of our Country's greatness and liberty: the Constitution.

He was just smarter than most of the Marxists in America, because he understood that there was no way any communst miltary power could overthrow America. His Rules for Radicals was the strategy for creating chaos in our institutions.

“Speaking of destroying things, how about the liberals pushing killing babies through abortion,…”

What is it with the righties and their insistence that the government become involved in the personal medical decisions of women? And of course I must add – Don’t like abortion, don’t have one. In all other cases, mind your own business. And now that you have weighed in on the subject I will ask you the question the rest of the righties have been running from – What punishment would you inflict upon a woman who has an abortion? I ask because no matter what a bunch of busybodies do abortions will continue.

“… or loosening the country's morals through taking God, prayer and the Ten Commandments out of school?”

Another of those rightie memes with no basis in fact. Throughout my education that began in 1947 and continued on and off through university in the 1970s I was never inundated with religious claptrap at school.

“The country is middle right and does not accept the things the liberals support, but have had them shoved down their throats by legislating the changes from the bench.”

It is interesting how polls around the nation do not support the above allegation and of course the court decision on Citizens United was a “liberal” one.

“The Constitution, which is one of the most erudite documents in the history of the world, is treated like it is a living document, which can be changed at any whim.”

The Constitution was designed to be a living document that could be altered, through a lengthy process not a “whim,” by the American people.

“I served 20 years in the military to defend our country and the Constitution.”

Thank you for your service, your comments would seem to contradict your defending the Constitution.
