Motor Home Blaze

Kingman firefighters responded to a motor home fire Wednesday morning on Interstate 40 about a mile west of the Beale Street intersection.

A 32-foot motor home caught on fire in the eastbound lanes of the interstate around 9 a.m.

jamming traffic about a mile.

The driver, from California, noticed his engine sputtering and pulled over when smoke engulfed the home.

The fire also caused a motorcycle accident when a 65-year-old Florida man on a motorcycle, trying to avoid the congestion from the backup on the interstate, crossed the median and attempted to turn around when he was struck by a rental truck.

The motorcyclist was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
