Caballero pleads innocent to murder charges<BR>

A Golden Valley man accused in the Nov.

15 shooting death of another man in Kingman pleaded innocent late Wednesday in Mohave County Superior Court to felony murder charges.

Jesus Christ Caballero was arrested earlier that morning by Kingman police officers and arraigned in court before Superior Court Judge Steven Conn.

Caballero, 23, faces felony charges of first-degree murder, drive-by shooting and aggravated assault in the shooting death of Raymond Viera, 37, of Lake Havasu City.

KPD officers arrested Caballero shortly before 10 a.m.

at a residence in the 2200 block of Robinson Avenue.

Officers found Caballero and a female companion asleep at the house and arrested them without incident.

The woman, Jonni Kay Johnson, 20, was arrested on a felony charge of hindering prosecution.

Two weeks ago, Caballero and Michael Anthony Platt were allegedly involved in the drive-by shooting in the 3600 block of Schaffer Avenue that left Viera dead.

Viera was shot at about 7 p.m.

after a pickup reportedly pulled alongside the vehicle Viera and a female companion occupied.

Several shots were allegedly fired from the truck.

Viera was struck once in the head and died the next day from his wounds.

Detectives believe that Viera and Caballero argued earlier that evening.

Shortly after the shooting, MCSO detectives located the pickup at Gordon Drive and Castle Rock Road and arrested Platt.

Caballero is being held in Mohave County Jail on a $177,000 bond.

His next court date is Dec.

31.
