Dolan Springs murder victim identified

The 41-year-old Dolan Springs man shot to death during an argument Sunday night has been identified as Robert Teel.

Teel was fatality shot on his birthday during a struggle with Qwirt Alan Morrison, 24, also of Dolan Springs, Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokesman Steve Johnson said.

Morrison was arrested on felony charges of second-degree murder for allegedly shooting Teel to death with a handgun shortly before 9 p.m.

Sunday.

Morrison was arrested at his residence in the 8600 block of Pierce Ferry Road.

In an interview with MCSO detectives, Morrison said he had a verbal argument with Teel earlier in the evening, Johnson said.

The victim reportedly returned to Morrison's home to apologize.

Later that evening, when Teel asked to see Morrison's .22-caliber handgun, an argument broke out when Teel apparently refused to return the weapon, Johnson said.

The two men struggled and Morrison allegedly shot the victim several times during the struggle, which occurred in Morrison's yard, Johnson said.

Teel died at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed on Teel Monday night.

The shooting is still under investigation, Johnson said.
