Mary Evangeline 'Eva' Surette

Mary Evangeline "Eva" Surette died Monday Feb.

5, 2001, in Kingman.

She was 94.


Surette was born Aug.

28, 1906 in Lower Eel Brook, Nova Scotia.

She immigrated to Boston in 1924 and was a resident of Malden, Mass., until 1997, when she moved to Kingman.


Surette is survived by: one daughter, Ann Cahoy of Kingman; five sisters Mabel Surette of Sacramento, Calif., Irene Surette, Agnes Doucette and Clementine Leverman, all of Nova Scotia, Isabelle Quirion of Willowdale, Ontario; brothers Augustine, Harold and Alfred Surette, all of Nova Scotia; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday Feb.

12, 2001, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Malden, Mass.

Burial will be at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, Mass.

Verna Katherine Paulson

Verna Katherine Paulson died Monday Feb.

5, 2001, in Kingman.

She was 82.


Paulson was born Dec.

25, 1919, in Allens Grove Township, Iowa, to Elfreda and Henry Voelkers.

Raised on a farm in Iowa, Mrs.

Paulson was married during World War II.

She lived in California for many years and retired from Lockheed in 1985.

Shortly after retirement she moved to Kingman.


Paulson is survived by: one son, Boyd; one daughter, Carolyn; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services, officiated by Pastor John Pool, will be held at 10 a.m.

on Friday Feb.

Evans died Sunday Feb.

4, 2001, in Kingman.

He was 74.


Evans was born Aug.

28, 1926 in Venice, Calif.

He moved to Kingman six years ago from Las Vegas, Nev.

A college graduate, he worked as a police officer in Los Angeles.

He served in the U.S.

Navy on a minesweeper in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was a member of Hollywood Masonic Lodge No.

355, Mohave sportsmen Club, Rout 66 Motorcycle club, Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Lake Havasu, and Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club.

No services are planned.

Burial will be in Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix.
