The body of a 15-year-old Kingman boy was found dead Wednesday morning near the railroad tracks downtown.
A conductor on a westbound freight train spotted the boy's body lying near the tracks around 9:50 a.m.
near Second and Topeka streets.
He was believed hit by a train sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday, Kingman police Lt.
Dean Brice said.
"It appears the subject was struck by the train but we're doing more investigating," Brice said.
"We also believe alcohol was involved.
We're still waiting for lab results."
Brice said witnesses saw the boy drinking earlier.
An autopsy was performed Wednesday afternoon.
It is unknown this morning if the death was accidental, he said.
How the boy got to the scene is also unknown.
There was no vehicle or bicycle nearby, Brice said.
