Kingman man indicted on murder charges of infant

A Kingman man was indicted Thursday on a charge of shaking his 7-week-old daughter to death.

Steven Raymond Zuncs was indicted by a Mohave County grand jury for first-degree murder and child abuse in the Nov.

15 death of his daughter.

In the afternoon of Nov.

15, paramedics were called to a Kingman apartment in the 3800 block of Roosevelt Street because of a report that an infant was not breathing, Kingman police Cpl.

Tracie Homer said.

The baby was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center and later flown to a Phoenix hospital, where she died Saturday morning.

The infant had bleeding on the brain and bruising on her abdomen, both signs of death by shaking, Homer said.

Zuncs, who has no other children, is being held in Mohave County Jail without bond.

He also faces domestic violence charges stemming from a Nov.

12 incident.
