Morgan Grantham, a 16-year-old Kingman High School student and amateur golfer, has won the Southwest Section Junior PGA Arizona State Championship in the girls 15-18 division.
Played at Antelope Hills golf course in Prescott earlier this month, Grantham shot a 76 in the first round and 66 in the second for a winning overall score of 142.
"I mediated in between both days," said Grantham describing the difference between scores.
"I was a lot calmer and more relaxed (on the second day)."
Grantham said she had just recently begun to meditate in order to help her better focus on her golf game and that after her success in the state championship, she planned to continue the course.
Grantham, a fifth year golfer, also won the state championship last year and has already won four tournaments this year.
A junior at Kingman High and with school starting, Grantham said she plans to put an emphasis on her high school play with the goal of winning the high school state championship.
"I'd like to win that before I graduate," she said.
Grantham understands the road to winning state isn't easy, but she said golf is what she enjoys.
"I just practice a lot and I work hard," she said.
"My parents help me a lot and also my coach (Jay Gates).
"(Golf) it's what I like to do."
