Accident claims life of Kingman woman<BR>

Speed, and possibly alcohol, were factors in an-early morning crash today that killed a Kingman woman, said Jarrod Lyman, Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokesman.

Lyman said that at 12:36 a.m.

the MCSO responded to a single-vehicle accident between mileposts 8 and 9 on Stockton Hill Road.

Lyman said a 2001 Hyundai 4-door sedan was traveling south on Stockton Hill Road at about 60 miles per hour when it rounded a curve with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour.

The car ran off the road, he said, hit a ditch and a tree and flipped.

Both the driver, Richard Chad Townsend, 35, of Wickenburg, and passenger Corri Beth Overs, 35, of Kingman were ejected.

Ken McLaughlin of the Ranger 41 rescue helicpoter said his unit responded to the accident at Cacus Wren Road, but Overs was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center by ambulance because of the severity of her injuries.

Overs died at 5:30 a.m., Lyman said.

Townsend was taken to KRMC with a fractured anckle.

According to Lyman, no charges have been filed in the crash but an investigation is ongoing.
