The FBI and reservation police are investigating the slaying of a 16-year-old American Indian boy in Peach Springs.
The teen-ager was shot once by a tribal police officer around 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, but law enforcement officers had released no other information as of this morning.
FBI agent Susan Herskovits would not say whether the teen-ager was armed or the officer on or off duty.
The FBI is continuing its investigation into the shooting, she said.
Neither Francis Bradley, Hualapai tribal police chief, nor Ruben Salazar, acting chief for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Peach Springs, would provide further details.
