Two killed in another Highway 68 accident

Two people were killed Tuesday night in the third fatal accident in Golden Valley in less than two weeks, Golden Valley Fire Department Capt.

Rudy Barboa said.

Around 9 p.m., a two-door sport utility vehicle reportedly pulled out on state Highway 68 at Estrella Road when it collided with a 1982 Toyota pickup truck heading eastbound on the highway.

Gregory Medlock, 48, of Golden Valley, the driver of the pickup died at the scene.

There were no other passengers in the truck, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve Volden said.

Daniel Hayes, 22, of Kingman, the driver of the 1992 Chevrolet SUV also died at the scene.

Amber Crabtree, 19, of Kingman, a passenger in the SUV, was flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas with head injuries.

Her condition is not known this morning, Volden said.

The SUV's other passengers, Joshua Hayes, 20, and Lynda Shelton, 41, both of Kingman, were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for evaluation with minor injuries.

Shelton was the only person in either vehicle who wore a seatbelt, Volden said.

The accident is the third fatal crash on Highway 68 in Golden Valley in less than two weeks.

Four commuters traveling to work at the Mohave Generating Station in Laughlin, were killed in a Feb.

21 crash.

A few days later, another accident killed a Golden Valley woman and her son.
