Golden Valley shooting leads to arrest of suspect and victim

Two Golden Valley men were arrested following a shooting Wednesday night at a Golden Valley bar.

Mohave County sheriff deputies responded to call of shots fired at a bar in the 3400 block of Verde Road and arrested Kevin Robert Barnard, 19, who was running from the area carrying a shotgun, sheriff's spokesman Jarrod Lyman said.

Barnard was arrested without incident and charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Lyman said.

Officers also arrested Alfred Richard Adams, 43, at Chino Drive and Estrella Road.

He was charged on a felony warrant for failure to appear in court about a case in Bullhead City.

That case involves an alleged assault by Adams on Barnard's mother, Lyman said.

Adams was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

A third man who was at the scene of the shooting was arrested, cited for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and released.

The man approached detectives and admitted possessing a firearm, Lyman said.
